Auditions open for “How the Other Half Loves”
February 6 @ 6:30 pm
An event every day that begins at 6:30pm, repeating until February 7, 2017
Theatre Off The Square will hold auditions for “How the Other Half Loves” at 6:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 6-7 at 114 N. Denton in Weatherford.
There are three couples, the men all working for the same firm. One of the younger men is having an affair with the wife of the oldest, and when each returns home suspiciously late one night or early one morning they invent a story about having to spend some time smoothing domestic matters in the home of the third couple. Both living rooms are shown in the single set, and both share a common dining room which takes on a character of its own as it serves two dinners simultaneously on two different nights. Of course, the third couple have to show up to put the fat in the fire, but that complication only adds to the fun of this famous farce.
This adult comedy in two acts has three couples, one couple ages 50 to 60 and two couples ages 30 to 40.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. A perusal copy is available at the theatre. Call backs, if needed, will be on Wednesday, Feb. 8, also at 6:30 pm.
Rehearsals will be March 13 – April 20, with production dates April 21 – 30 (two weekends only). Curtain time is 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays.
