The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21 for a covered dish luncheon at the home of Linda Murdock, 508 S. Lamar in Weatherford. The program will be on the 1890 Reconstructed Parker Co. Census. Members will provide food for any who wish to attend, and officers for 2012 will be elected. Interested non-members are also invited to attend.

The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will tour the new Southwest Regional Archives Office in Montgomery Plaza/ Fort Worth at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 with lunch following at Mac's. Interested parties will meet at 2600 W. Seventh St. , Ste. #162 (east side of complex) or call Vickie for transportation suggestions at 817-233-4322.

The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will be represented from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at ParkFest 2011 in Willow Park. The society will be located at the Willow Park Community Center Grounds on Ranch House Rd. Members will be available to hand out information about the society’s programs and membership application forms. Local residents are invited to stop by and guess the number of beans in the jar and try for a prize.

The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will have its Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 17 at its research library, 101 Stagecoach Tr. on the corner of Ranch House Rd. in Willow Park. Lunch will be served to all visitors. Local historians and genealogists Susan Karnes, Jean Bennett and others will be available to help with research. The research center is available at all times.
The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will caravan/carpool at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 20 from the York Avenue General Merchandise in Weatherford to tour The Literary Lion book store in Stephenville. The second floor of the building houses a Texas History Research Room. Allow time for researching, touring, shopping and lunch. For more information call Vickie at 817-233-4322.

The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will tour the Texas Civil War Museum on Jim Wright Freeway in Ft. Worth at10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 16. Admission is $5. Meet at the Willow Park Community Center on Ranch House Road by 10 a.m. to carpool or caravan, or 10:30 at the museum.

The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will tour the Parker County Courthouse, led by Judge Mark Riley, on Saturday, June 11 at 10:30 a.m. Please assemble promptly between 10:20 and 10:30 a.m. at the west entrance to the Court House as the door will be locked during the tour. Anyone interested is welcome to attend. Dutch treat lunch on the square following for those who wish to stay.

The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will meet at the Annetta Cemetery office at 10:30 a.m. The cemetery is located several miles south of I-20 on FM 5 after crossing the railroad tracks. Groundskeeper Mickey Hoefer will give a history of some of those interred. In case of rain or a funeral, we will meet for research at the new Federal Archives Center on West Seventh St. in Fort Worth at 10:30 a.m. Members will be notified by e-mail if there's a change.

The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will meet Saturday, April 16 at 10 a.m. at the East Parker County Chamber of Commerce to carpool/caravan to Clark Gardens near Mineral Wells, otherwise participants can meet at the gardens between 10:30 and 10:45. The garden tour will be followed by a dutch treat lunch in nearby Cool, TX for those who wish to stay.

The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will host a complimentary salad luncheon following a presentation by Mrs. V.A. Littleton, local artist, author, and historian. The presentation will be on March 19 at 10:30 a.m. at the EPCGHS Research room in Willow Park. She will present information on the Alex Rawlins Monument business as well as other bits of Parker County history.
