The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society monthly meeting is Saturday, April 19 at 10:30 a.m. in the Willow Park Community Center on Ranch House Rd. and Stage Coach Trail, with a salad luncheon provided by the membership. The program will be a computerized photography collage of Parker County photos by Lorena Friddle, president of the Parker County Women's and Newcomer's Society, and a 1930s video of the El Chico Ranch in Willow Park donated by early resident Bob Rothel. It was made when his father was the ranch foreman.
If time allows there will also be a showing of an early 1920s movie of Aledo donated by the King family.
The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will meet Saturday, March 15 at the Log Cabin Village on University Dr. in Ft. Worth, weather permitting. The group will tour several cabins and focus particularly on the Isaac Parker cabin moved from Birdville about 50 years ago.
Because they are open only from 1-5 on Saturday, the group will meet on location at 1 p.m. Call a member to carpool from Willow Park.
Admission is $5-adults and $4.50-seniors.

The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will tour the Mt. Pleasant Colored Schoolhouse Saturday, Feb. 22 with Raymond George giving a brief history. Meet at Brookshire's in Willow Park at 10 a.m. for caravan or rides to Weatherford. Those who live in Weatherford and want to join the tour can meet at Brookshire's on Palo Pinto St. at 10:30, and George will lead the group to the schoolhouse. Dutch treat lunch for those interested following the tour.

The East Parker Genealogy and Historical Society will meet at the Research Room Saturday, Jan. 18 at 10:30 a.m. for the annual business meeting. There will be an annual review, officers will be elected, and new goals will be set.
Anyone interested in joining is invited. The Research Room is located in Willow Park at the corner of Stagecoach Tr. And Ranch House Rd. Dutch treat lunch nearby will follow for those who wish to go in a group.

The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will have its November meeting at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, in the Community Center/Research Room at the corner of Ranch House Rd. and Stagecoach Trail.
Member Jean Bennett will speak about cemetery symbols and their meanings. A soup and cornbread luncheon at the Community Center will follow. Please bring fresh or canned vegetables to put in the stock. If you'd rather bring cornbread, call Kay Davis at 817-441-8479. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.

The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will join the Parker County Historical Commission at a memorial marker unveiling for Lawson Gratz (Gratts), Civil War Veteran and Buffalo Soldier, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Willow Springs Cemetery on the north I-20 access road near Mikus Rd. Great Grandson Josef Gratts and family along with EPCGHS members will be in attendance. Everyone interested in Parker County history is welcome to attend.

The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m.Saturday, June 22 at Brookshire's (Ranch House Road side) to carpool or caravan to Newberry and Porter Cemetery in the northwest part of Parker County. Those who attend are encouraged to take a brown bag lunch. Jim Doss will be the historian and, weather permitting, lunch will be in the nearby church.

The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will tour the McFarland Ranch, 701 McFarland Ranch Road, in Aledo at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 20. Chris Cornwall giving a history of the ranch and family. Go south on 1187 through Aledo and past McAnally School, then curve west and turn south through the Aledo Country Estates entrance at McFarland Ranch Road and travel to the end at the ranch entrance. Non-members are invited.

The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will take a field trip to Newberry and Porter Cemetery in west Parker County on Saturday, March 23. The group will meet to carpool or caravan at 10 p.m. in the west parking area of Brookshire's Willow Park and hopes to be in Newberry before 11 a.m. Bring a picnic brown bag lunch or come early and buy a picnic lunch at Brookshire's. Lunch will be in the tabernacle or church (weather depending). Jim Doss, Willow Park resident and native of the Newberry area, will serve as tour guide and historian. Anyone interested is welcome. In case of inclement weather (heavy rain or snow), the field trip will be rescheduled and the group will meet at the Willow Park research room in the Community Center and have a brown bag lunch and research day instead. The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will tour the Gordon Library and Museum at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16 in Gordon, TX, and follow with a dutch-treat lunch at Sunday Creek nearby. To participate, meet in Gordon at the location by 10:30. If you'd like to carpool or caravan, meet at the west side parking lot of Brookshire's on Ranch House Road in Willow Park by 9:30.
