The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will tour the McFarland Ranch, 701 McFarland Ranch Road, in Aledo at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 20. Chris Cornwall giving a history of the ranch and family. Go south on 1187 through Aledo and past McAnally School, then curve west and turn south through the Aledo Country Estates entrance at McFarland Ranch Road and travel to the end at the ranch entrance. Non-members are invited.

The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will take a field trip to Newberry and Porter Cemetery in west Parker County on Saturday, March 23. The group will meet to carpool or caravan at 10 p.m. in the west parking area of Brookshire's Willow Park and hopes to be in Newberry before 11 a.m. Bring a picnic brown bag lunch or come early and buy a picnic lunch at Brookshire's. Lunch will be in the tabernacle or church (weather depending). Jim Doss, Willow Park resident and native of the Newberry area, will serve as tour guide and historian. Anyone interested is welcome. In case of inclement weather (heavy rain or snow), the field trip will be rescheduled and the group will meet at the Willow Park research room in the Community Center and have a brown bag lunch and research day instead. The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will tour the Gordon Library and Museum at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16 in Gordon, TX, and follow with a dutch-treat lunch at Sunday Creek nearby. To participate, meet in Gordon at the location by 10:30. If you'd like to carpool or caravan, meet at the west side parking lot of Brookshire's on Ranch House Road in Willow Park by 9:30. The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will start the year off with its annual business meeting at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19. Following election of officers and discussion of program activities for the year, those wishing can join the group for a dutch treat lunch in the area. The meeting will be held at the Willow Park Community Center at the intersection of Ranch House Rd. and Stagecoach Trail in Willow Park (Exit 418 of I-20).

The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will have a work day at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 27 in the Research Room in the Willow Park Community Center. Anyone interested in working on their family history or helping organize the research room with new shelving is invited.

The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will hold a regular business meeting at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Research Room in the Willow Park Community Center, located at 101 W. Stagecoach Trail (and the corner of Ranch House Rd.) A Dutch treat lunch will follow at a nearby restaurant. Members are asked to please attend to vote on several issues. The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society invites you to join them for lunch Saturday, Aug. 11 at the Rose Tearoom inside the Historic Camp Bowie Mercantile in Fort Worth, located on the Benbrook/Weatherford traffic circle. The club will meet to shop and look around at noon, and plan to have dutch treat lunch at 1 p.m. Anyone interested in joining the group is invited. For carpool assistance or to caravan, meet at Willow Park Brookshire's at 11:30.

The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will tour the Ballow Farm and Goforth Cemetery off Hwy. 377 on Saturday, May 12. The East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society will meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31(weather permitting) at the Holland Lake Park Pavillion in Weatherford to hear Mary Ellen Astudillo review the book "Gay as a Grig" by Ellen Bowie Holland. In case of inclement weather, the organization will meet at its research room in Willow Park at 101 W. Stagecoach Trail. Anyone is welcome to attend.
