The Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service of Parker County, in cooperation with the Parker County Master Gardeners, will conduct a workshop entitled Creating and Maintaining a Healthy, Drought-Tolerant and Sustainable Landscape.
The class will be held at the Parker County Extension Office at 604 N. Main Street, Suite 200, Saturday, Aug. 16 from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. With the ever-increasing restrictions on water use in Parker County, there is a need for all of us to develop landscapes that rely on less water use and conserve other resources. This class will cover designing a sustainable landscape, appropriate use of water, taking care of soil, selecting appropriate hardy and drought-tolerant plants, and conserving natural resources through responsible fertilization and integrated pest management.
To attend the class, the charge is $10. The fee will cover the costs of handouts, refreshments and lunch. For more information about the water conservation class, contact the Parker County Extension Office at 817-598-6168. Pre-registration is requested by Aug. 12.
