Martha Faulkner, author of the newly-released children's book, "Napi, The Pug That Survived Katrina," will appear at a book signing at Dog Eared Books, 318 Santa Fe in Weatherford, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, July 19. Faulkner, has taught elementary school for 29 years – the last 18 at Stuard Elementary School – and has also published short stories and poems, and this is her first published book. "Napi, The Pug That Survived Katrina" tells the story about a pampered little princess dog, Napi, who thinks the world is all about her. But the dog comes around in the end to wonder what she can do to help others. And the dog feels lucky to have her family.
