The East Parker County Chamber of Commerce monthly membership luncheon will host County Judge Mark Riley as keynote speaker July 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at New River Fellowship, 3253 East Interstate 20 South service road, Hudson Oaks.
Riley will give an update on FM 1187 and Aledo Trail. His presentation will include information on Proposition 1, the state transportation funding proposal that will be on the ballot in the November general election. Prop 1 will provide $1.4 billion from the Economic Stabilization Fund, reallocating gas & oil funds while creating no new taxes according to Texas Association of Business.
Riley has served as county judge for the past 16 years. He was recently re-elected to a fifth term, which he will begin in January 2015. He is active in transportation, leading Parker County through its 2008 Transportation Bond Program. He was recently elected vice chair of the 16 county Regional Transportation Council, of the North Central Texas Council of Governments. He serves as secretary of the Tarrant Regional Transportation Council and has been an invited speaker to several transportation forums across the state.
