The Kimbell Art Museum and Blue Bell Ice Cream present "Ice Cream Sunday" on Sunday, July 21, from noon to 3 p.m., in the Museum's west portico, to celebrate National Ice Cream Day. Visitors will enjoy an afternoon escape from the Texas heat to explore the galleries and savor a free scoop of ice cream.
Docent-guided tours for families and screenings of children's films will take place throughout the event. A showcase of family-friendly films will feature exciting new releases, classic tales from around the world, and major artists represented in the Kimbell's permanent collection. Film programs are offered in partnership with the Lone Star Film Society. Visitors to the event can register to win a one-year supply of Blue Bell Ice Cream or a one-year Kimbell family membership.
To commemorate National Ice Cream Day, Blue Bell will debut their newest ice cream flavor, Rockslide Brownie, at the Museum. Rockslide Brownie is a sumptuous dark chocolate ice cream combined with pieces of chocolate brownies, miniature marshmallows, chopped almonds, pecans and walnuts, all surrounded by a rich caramel swirl.
Admission to the Museum's permanent collection is always free. Fort Worth Star-Telegram Press Pass holders will receive free admission to Wari: Lords of the Ancient Andes.
