The Women’s Business Alliance of the East Parker County Chamber of Commerce will be holding their Second Annual Showcase of Charities on from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, August 2, at Oakridge Church of Christ in Willow Park. Early charities signed up to attend include CASA, Center of Hope, Grace House, Freedom House, United Way of Parker County, Kids Hope, Alzheimers Association, Texas Pythian Home and more. Each charity will have a list of their top three needs. The needs will be posted on the Chamber website when you log on to register for the event.
Women do more than 12 % of all the fund-raising, collection, preparation, distribution of food in local charities. Almost 30 % of women volunteer an average of 50 hours per week. The Women’s Business Alliance encourages all women to get involved in Parker County charities and give back to a community that cares about its residents.
More information will be available later. For more information on helping with the planning and advertising of the event, contact the East Parker Chamber of Commerce at 817-441-7844, Susie Henning at 817-441-5897 or Rosemarie Swaim at 817-565-8558.
