Calling all Vampires & Vamps, Monsters & Mummies, Goblins & Ghouls.
Theatre Off The Square announces open auditions for the fiendishly funny, farcical musical Dracula, Baby. Based on the novel by Bram Stoker, the poduction is directed by Jon R. Kruse with choreography by Karen Dohoney.
Audition dates begin July 23 for cold readings of the script. July 24 auditions are for singing and movement (be prepared to sing a simple, a cappella tune).
Call-backs are 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 26 at 114 N. Denton Dr. in Weatherford. Rehearsals begin August 20. Show Dates are Oct. 19-Nov. 4, 2012.
There are roles for seven men, three women and a chorus.
Count Dracula of Transylvania: 1,000 yrs. old but looks great for his age
Dr. Seward: runs a sanitarium, 40-60 yrs
Chief Nurse: sexy, falls in love with the Count, 30s
Renfield: a patient, a kook, 20-40
Lucy: Seward’s beautiful ward, late teens to early 20s
Arthur: Lucy’s fiancé, handsome but stuffy, properly British, 20s
Van Helsing: a professor, 40-60, German/Austrian dialect
Sylvia: a witch, any age
Chorus: Transylvanian Peasants, Hospital Matrons, Bartender, Barmaid, Pub Patrons, Monsters: teens, young adults/adults, up to 10 needed.
All must sing and be able to perform a few simple dance steps.
Most roles require an English or British Dialect.
