Shea Paul Wood cleared 14-00 to finish in first place in pole vaulting at the Regional Track Meet in Abilene yesterday. The leap earns Wood a trip to the State Meet in Austin on May 13-14. He will be joined by Johnathan Gray, who finished second in the 100 Meters.

The Aledo bi-district playoffs have been scheduled as a three-game series as follows:
7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at Trimble Tech
7:30 p.m. Friday, May 6 at Aledo
The third game, if necessary, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7 at Trimble Tech.

The Aledo Ladycats took advantage of numerous defensive missteps on the part of Arlington Heights tonight to capture the bi-district crown 12-0. Behind the pitching of Kacie Brann, who recorded 13 strikeouts in five innings, the Ladycats will advance to face the winner of the Stephenville-Joshua series now under way.
At the same time, the Bearcat baseball team Keller Timberview 15-1 to become the outright district champion.

Aledo High School running back Johnathan Gray announced this morning that he has committed to attend the University of Texas at Austin following his senior year at Aledo High School.
Before the Longhorns get him, however, Gray still has one season remaining at Aledo High School, where local hopes are for a third consecutive state championship for the Bearcats.

The Ladycats won their contest 6-5 to remain undefeated in district. The Bearcats also stayed untouched in baseball by defeating Nelson 12-2.
In JV action, the Bearcats 10-run ruled Byron Nelson 14-1; the Ladycats fell 6-2.

The Aledo girls Black golf team took second place at the district tournament which concluded yesterday at Pecan Valley. They now advance to the Regional Tournament at Diamondback Golf Club in Abilene on April 18.
Overall, the team shot a combined score of 737 strokes behind Byron Nelson High School’s 674. The Aledo Orange team came in sixth with 880.
Individually, Aledo’s Savannah Moody finished in third place (84-90=174). Haley Gann was sixth (94-90=184).
Will Beeson and Amanda Richter finished the district tournament as district champions in mixed doubles today at TCU. They won their first match yesterday 6-0, 6-1 and won today 6-0, 6-0.
