Can anyone say “halftime adjustments?” The Ladycats were clinging on to a 26-25 lead going into halftime. Aledo had enough of these bees in their bonnets and came out on fire in the second half. The Ladycats outscored Azle 59-23 in the second half. Yes, 59 points in the second half.
The victory moved Aledo to 22-2 on the season and a perfect 7-0 in district play. Logan Mitte led all scorers with 21 points and Mallory Powell added 20.
The Ladycats return home on Tuesday night to play Birdville at 6:00 PM.

Varsity Basketball vs. Boswell, Tuesday Night Action
The Aledo Ladycats brought out the defensive heat on a cold night and defeated the Boswell Lady Pioneers 56-36. The victory gives the Ladycats, ranked # 5 in the state, a 21-2 record to go along with a perfect 6-0 district mark.
Logan Mitte led all scorers with 18, Mallory Powell added 12, Alanna Martin 10, Hannah Loftin 6.

The Bearcats led Boswell 24-20 at halftime, but fell victim to some cold shooting in the second half. Danny Glass led Aledo with 14, Matt Bishop scored 9, AJ Ray 8, and Taylor Johnson 7.

Fourteen Aledo Bearcat players made the first team all-district team for District 5-4A. Johnathan Gray was named the Most Valuable Player in the district. Rylan Riney was voted Defensive Player of the Year and Coach Tim Buchanan was voted Coach of the Year.

55 minutes to kick-off and Aledo has taken the field for their pre-game warm-ups. The Division II 3A State Championship just ended with Carthage beating Cold Springs 47-22. The Bearcat nation is starting to file in.
They have pushed tonight's kick-off to 8:15.
Aledo wins the toss and elects to recieve. Gray and Cunningham are deep.
A three play 73 yard drive ends in a 52 yard pitch and catch from Matthew Bishop to Michael Mann. Frantz PAT is good and Aledo leads 7-0 with 11:07 left in the first quarter.
