Aledo sophomore pitcher Kacie Brann allowed just two hits and struck out eight to lead the Ladycats to a 4-1 win over Azle Wednesday night in a District 6-4A game at Azle.
The win evens the Ladycats district mark at 2-2. The loss was Azle's first in district play.
The Ladycats will continue district action at 7 p.m. at home Tuesday, March 23, against Saginaw.
The Ladycats scored all the runs Brann (1-0 in 6-4A) would need in a four-run third inning.
Senior second baseman Kendall Kizer smashed a two-run home run, with junior right fielder Carolyn Clayton (double) and junior third baseman Morgan Farley (single) each driving in a run in the frame.

Heavy overnight rain and continued showers today led to the postponement of the Aledo Bearcats District 6-4A baseball game at Boswell, and the Aledo Ladycats district softball contest at Azle, both originally scheduled for tonight.
The Ladycats and Azle will play at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday, March 17) at Azle.
The Bearcats and Pioneers have rescheduled their game for tomorrow at 7 p.m. at Boswell.
District 6-4A by laws for both baseball and softball state that when a game is postponed, it shall be made up on the next available playing date, which would be Wednesday, March 17.
The Aledo Ladycats and Bearcats soccer teams will both play bi-district playoff matches at Northwest ISD Stadium on Thursday, March 18.
The Ladycats will face Denton Guyer at 6 p.m. followed by the Bearcats contest against Denton Ryan at 8 p.m.
The winner of the Ladycats/Guyer match will face Wichita Falls Rider in the area round, while the victor of the Bearcats/Ryan contest will face Wichita Falls High School in the second round.
Both Rider and Old High drew geographical byes in the first round.
Boswell pitcher Tawny Hank limited Aledo to five hits to lead the Lady Pioneers to a 9-3 win over the Ladycats Friday night in a District 6-4A game at Boswell.
The loss drops the Ladycats to 1-2 in district play. Both Ladycat losses in district play have been on the road. AHS will continue 6-4A action at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, at Azle.
Sarah Simpson took the loss in the circle for the Ladycats. The senior allowed four earned runs on six hits with three walks and five strikeouts in five innings.

Calvin Loftis allowed just three hits in 6 2/3 innings and Ryan Talley faced one batter for the save as the pitching pair led the Aledo Bearcats to a 2-1 victory over Brewer Tuesday night at Bearcat Field in the District 6-4A opener.
Loftis earned the win on the hill, allowing one run and five walks while striking out seven.
Talley snuffed out a potential Brewer rally with a strikeout as the Bears had the tying and go-ahead runs on base with two outs in the top of the seventh inning.
The Bearcats will play next at the Western Hills tournament, which runs Thursday through Saturday, March 11-13.
Aledo got on the board when Matthew Bishop drove in Cody Smith - who had reached on an error - with an infield single in the second to give the Bearcats a 1-0 lead.
In the third inning, Hayden Hall reached second on a single to right field followed by an error on the play.
Hall advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a sacrifice fly by Lawton Rinker to give the Bearcats a 2-0 advantage.
Brewer's lone run came in the sixth when Craig Keeton scored after a triple from Zane Pruett, who also took the loss on the hill for the Bears.
Ladycats blow out Saginaw
Yusef Marwan scored three goals to lead the Aledo Bearcats soccer team to a 4-2 victory over Saginaw Tuesday night in the District 12-4A finale at Bearcat Stadium which clinched the school's first undefeated district season in boys soccer.
Marwan tallied twice in the first half to give Aledo a 2-0 lead. Thomas Davis earned the assist on the first goal, while Marwan's second goal was unassisted.
Saginaw came back with two goals late in the half to tie the contest, 2-2, which it remained at the break.
Marwan completed his hat trick in the second half with a goal on a Davis assist to give the Bearcats a 3-2 lead.
Davis closed the scoring with an insurance goal on an assist from Nickell.
Ladycats 8, Saginaw 1
The Aledo Ladycats saw six different players score in an 8-1 romp over the Saginaw Lady Roughriders Tuesday night following the boys contest.
Paige Marsh and Ally Swift each scored twice to lead the Ladycats - who led 5-1 at the half - with Stephanie Neeley, Bailey Scott, Michaela Place and Sarah Albritton each adding a goal.
Aledo soccer teams conclude district play at home today
Tonight's (Tuesday, March 9) Aledo Ladycats junior varsity and varsity District 6-4A home openers against Brewer have been postponed due to wet grounds.
The games will be reschedule for tomorrow (Wednesday, March 10) at the Ladycats softball field. The JV game will begin at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity contest at 7 p.m.
Today's varsity District 6-4A baseball opener between the Aledo Bearcats and Brewer Bears - scheduled for 7 p.m. at Bearcat Field - will go on as scheduled.
Not affected by the recent rains are the Aledo Bearcats and Ladycats soccer teams. Both will conclude district action today at Bearcat Stadium against Saginaw.
The boys match will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the girls contest at 8 p.m.

Mittie, the 2010 Most Valuable Player in District 6-4A and a three-time all-district, first-team choice, averaged 19.4 points per game while grabbing 7.3 rebounds, four assists and 4.3 steals per contest.
Five girls from Parker County schools earned TGCA Class 2A all-state honors including Amber and Mandy Makeever of Peaster, and Kamy Cole, Kenisha Harris and Paige Parliament of Brock.
