The Aledo Ladycats had a quick 13-0 victory over Frenship at Abilene Thursday night. Game 2 will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Clyde.
The Bearcats trailed Birdville 2-0 going into the 7th inning, when they scored two unearned runs to take the game into extra innings. In the top of the 8th Aledo scored six runs and came out with an 8-3 win.

Changes were announced for the upcoming Aledo Bearcats regional quarterfinal best-of-3 baseball series with Birdville.
All games in the series will be played at Chisholm Trail High School.
Game 1 on Thursday (May 15) has not changed and it will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Game two has been changed to 3 p.m. Friday (May 16), with game 3, if necessary, now starting at noon on Saturday (May 17).
The Aledo Ladycats and Wolfforth Frenship will play in a best-of-3 Class 4A, Region I semifinals series beginning Thursday.
Game 1: 7 p.m. Thursday, Abilene Christian University
Game 2: 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Clyde
Game 3: If necessary, 30 minutes following game 2.
The Aledo Bearcats will play a three game Regional Quarterfinal playoff series against Birdville starting Thursday, May 15.

Zayne Willems hit a home run in the bottom of the sixth to cap off a third-game win against Wichita Falls tonight, 2-0. Carter Cammack was the winning pitcher, with Dakota Durant, who pitched the last three innings, getting the save.
Aledo will play Birdville in the Regional Quarterfinal at a date to be determined.

Dakota Durant drove in three runs and relief pitcher Shane Mosiello retired all four batters he faced to collect the save as the Aledo Bearcats defeated Wichita Falls, 5-3, in game two of a Class 4A, Region I best-of-3 area championship series.
The series-deciding game three will be tonight (Saturday, May 10) at 7 p.m. at Mineral Wells High School.
Aledo starting pitcher Taco Anderson earned the win, allowing three runs on three hits with four walks and seven strikeouts.
Durant smashed a two-RBI single in the second inning and added a sacrifice fly in the sixth.

As reported earlier today, Carl Williams won the state 4A boys state championship in high jump, clearing 7'.
The Aledo girls' 4x100 meter relay team of Danielle Trought, Peyton Lambert, Mikia Jordan and Brittney Trought came in 6th.
Brittney Trought placed sixth and her sister Danielle placed eighth in girls 100 meter hurdles.
Ryan Newsome placed second in the 100 meter dash.
Brittney Trought placed sixth in girls' 300 meter hurdles.

Aledo senior Carl Williams jumped a season-best 7 feet to win the boys' Class 4A state high jump competition this morning (Friday, May 9) at Mike Myers Stadium in Austin.
Williams won the event by six inches over second-place finisher Kene Nwangwu of Frisco Heritage.
Tonight's (Thursday) softball game between Aledo and Denton Guyer has been postponed. Game one will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 9 at L.D. Bell High School. Game two will be Saturday, 1 p.m. at the same location, followed by Game three, if necessary.
