Jess Anders first carry of the drive is for 34 yards out to the 44 yard line. Caleb Frysinger gets 8 to the 42 and Quanel Williams covers 18 yards to the Western Hills 32 yard line. Jess Anders next carry is for the last 32 yards. Aledo leads 21-0 after the Nevarez extra point.
The Western Hills Cougars are able to overcome a couple of penalties and move the ball out to their 41 yard line with a couple of first downs.
The Bearcats stop the drive before the Cougars get into their end of the field. Jonny Carter returns the Cougar's punt out to the Aledo 33.

It occurs to me, again tonight, that Bearcat Stadium in Aledo is a nice place to watch the sun set behind the Scoreboard at the West end.

South Hills has a drive going until Shea Woods intercepts a pass to give Aledo another chance from their own 35 yard line, the best starting field position so far tonight.

The Bearcat's go for it on 4th down. A nice Pate Davis to Taco Anderson pass nets a first down at the Heights 12. Two Caleb Frysinger runs later Aledo has it's first points. The PAT is good and the Bearcats lead 7-0 with 8:25 left in the 1st.

Tonight's game between the Aledo Bearcats and the Highland Park Scots, is the 2012 edition of a 13 year tradition, the Tom Landry Classic, on the SMU campus.
The sun has finally fallen below the press box at Gerald Ford Stadium and given the Aledo fans some shade as the officials toss the coin at midfield.

A turnover gives Highland Park the ball back at their 19 yard line. 2 first downs and the Scots are in Aledo territory at the 49. Another first down to the 37 as the first quarter ends.
The second quarter begins with the Scots driving on the Aledo 37 yard line. Another quick kick goes into the end zone and Aledo has the ball at their own 20.
Aledo uses the pass, and two big Pate Davis to Taco Anderson plays to score on this drive. The extra point is good and the Bearcats lead 7-0 with 9:57 left in the first half.
The Aledo Bearcats open the 2012 season with a scrimmage against Denton Guyer on Friday, Aug. 24 at Aledo High School.
The freshmen will scrimmage at 5:30 p.m. at the freshman campus practice field.
The JV will scrimmage at 5:30 p.m. at Bearcat Stadium.
The varsity will scrimmage at 7 p.m. at Bearcat Stadium.
Admission to the scrimmage will be a donation to the Texas High School Coaches Association's Benevolence Fund
The THSCA Benevolence Fund provides aide to students who are injured while participating in high school sports.
