The Aledo Bearcats' quest for a second consecutive 4-A Division II state championship is taking an unexpected path. The number 2 state ranked (and Aledo’s opponent in the championship game last season) Brenham Cubs were defeated by Kingwood Park 29-24. Bracket watchers may have had a potential showdown of the two top rated 4A teams penciled in for a repeat championship game in 2010.

The thing about playoffs is you just never know. An upset can happen on any given night. Friday night in Waco, the heavily favored Everman Bulldogs (8-3) lost to the Waco High Lions (5-6) 24-21. The win by the Lions sets up the Area Championship game next Friday on Aledo's home turf- Bearcat Stadium. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m.
Everman entered the contest with Waco High as the top seeded team in Division II from district 4-4A and Waco High was the lowest seed from district 8- 4A.

Match 5: 15-13 Randall wins
The last Ladycat game that went five matches (Oct. 22) was Kathy Goings' 400th win.
Match 4: Aledo wins 25-23. The game is tied 2-2, winner of march five moves on; loser goes home.
Match 3: Randall wins 25-16, leads the game 2-1.
Match 2: Randall wins 25-22.
Aledo battles back from being down 11-9 to tie the match at 18.
Bearcats advance to Area with dominating win

The Aledo Bearcats began their defense of the 4-A Division II State Football Championship with a convincing 56-7 win over the O.D. Wyatt Chaparrals Thursday night at Clark Stadium in Fort Worth. The Bearcats got off to a great start with Jonathan Gray scoring four touchdowns and finishing the first half with 189 rushing yards on only 12 carries. Gray’s final touchdown came on an electrifying 34 yard run to end the half. Quarterback Matthew Bishop completed touchdown passes of 11 yards to Todd Christian and a 77 yard pass to Justin Breshears. Ben Jopling also scored on a one yard run in the first half.
Aledo BearcatsThe Bearcats have the first round of playoffs tonight at 7 p.m. against Fort Worth-O.D. Wyatt High School at Clark Stadium and the Ladycats are in Abilene preparing for their first game of the Regional Tournament which will take place tomorrow at 4 p.m. at McMurry University.

The Aledo Ladycats will play their first game of the Regional Tournament against Canyon Randall High School Friday, Nov. 12 at 4 p.m. This year's tournament is being held at McMurry University in Abilene.
