Paced by a combined 23 kills from middle hitters Breana Sharratt and Jordan Jacobs, the state-ranked No. 10 Aledo Ladycats cruised past Brewer, 25-12, 25-8, 25-9, Tuesday night in District 5-4A volleyball action at the AHS gym.
The win raises the Ladycats district mark to 10-0 and 28-8 overall. Aledo will continue 5-4A play at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at home against Boswell.
Sharratt led all hitters with 14 kills, with Jacobs adding nine to go along with a match-high four blocks. Outside hitter Christa Daniel added seven stoppers.
Defensively, libero Taylor Brown led the Ladycats with 13 digs, while Daniel added 10. Setter Mallory Powell finished with a match-high 29 assists.

First-place Ladycats continue District 5-4A play at home today
For the first time in 2010, the Aledo Ladycats have cracked the Top 10 in the Texas Girls Coaches Association volleyball poll.
The state-ranked No. 11 Aledo Ladycats stayed undefeated in District 5-4A after they cruised to a 25-13, 25-9, 25-14 victory over Trophy Club Byron Nelson Friday night at Nelson.
The win raises the Ladycats record to 27-8 overall and 9-0 in district play. Aledo will continue district play at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at home against Brewer.

Paced by junior running back Johnathan Gray's 248 yards rushing and four touchdowns, the state-ranked No. 1 Aledo Bearcats had little trouble in a 66-9 victory over Trophy Club Byron Nelson Friday night in a District 5-4A contest at Northwest ISD Stadium.
The win raises the No. 1 Bearcats overall mark to 6-0, and 3-0 in 5-4A. Aledo will continue district play at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at home against Boswell.

Aledo remains in first place after big road volleyball victory
Aledo middle hitters Jordan Jacobs and Breana Sharratt combined for 29 kills, and sophomore setter Mallory Powell recorded a match-high 41 assists to lead the state-ranked No. 11 Ladycats to a 25-20, 25-14, 22-25, 25-23 victory over Birdville Tuesday night in District 5-4A action at Birdville.
The win raises the Ladycats record to 26-8, and 8-0 in district play.
Sharratt registered a match-high 16 kills, with Jacobs adding 13. Sharratt and Jacobs also finished with four blocks apiece.
Senior hitter Christa Daniel had a solid, all-around performance with 11 kills and a team-leading 23 digs. Senior libero Taylor Brown added 18 digs, with junior defensive specialist Hannah Loftin finishing with 14 digs.
