Aledo Nation turned up large and loud as several families, including hundreds of girls and boys, came to the Aledo High School Indoor Facility Thursday night for the "Meet The Bearcats" event. Aledo junior and No. 1 girls' singles player Nikki Adamie sends down a forehand winner Thursday morning at the Aledo High School tennis courts in a team tennis match with Hereford. Adamie won her match. The AHS tennis team will face Lubbock Moneterrey beginning at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14 at the AHS courts.
The annual Meet The Bearcats event will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13 at the Aledo High School Indoor Facility. The two-time defending state champion Bearcats and the AHS cheerleaders will be on hand to sign autographs and autograph posters, and fans can also meet the AHS coaching staff.

Class 6A Waco Midway used a come back in game three to complete a sweep of the Aledo Ladycats Monday night in the volleyball season opener at Midway High School.
After a combination block by Aledo junior hitters Maddie Goings and Peyton Lambert increased AHS lead to 23-21 late in game three, Midway came back twice to tie the score before a pair of kills led the Pantherettes to a 26-24 win to seal the match.
Midway had taken game one, 25-12, and won 25-18 in game two.

The two-time defending state champion Bearcats will continue practices without pads through Thursday. Friday will be the first day in full pads, and the Bearcats will hold an intrasquad scrimmage at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 at Bearcat Stadium.
