Due to wet grounds, today's Aledo Ladycats/Azle best-of-3 regional finals opening game has been moved to Brock High School.
The game will begin at 7 p.m. today (Thursday, May 28).
Games 2 and 3 are scheduled for Saturday at Chisholm Trail High School. Game two is set for 2 p.m. and if a third game is necessary it will follow game two.

For the second consecutive year, the Aledo Ladycats will face the Azle Lady Hornets to decide which team represents Region I at the Class 5A state tournament in Austin.
All games in the best-of-3 regional finals series will be played at Chisholm Trail High School.
Game 1 will be at 7 p.m. today (Thursday, May 28). Game 2 is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30, with Game 3, if necessary, to follow.
The Ladycats are Class 5A’s wire-to-wire No. 1 team, while Azle comes into the contest ranked No. 3 by the Texas Girls Coaches Association. TGCA has ranked Azle as high as No. 2 this season.

Davis threw two touchdown passes in the game, with AHS quarterback Garrett Hyles throwing for another. Another big offensive highlight was a 59-yard TD run by Michael Jordan, who also scored on a 33-yard sprint.
Aledo head football coach Steve Wood has announced that the Aledo Bearcats Spring Football Game has been moved to Thursday morning (May 28) due to softball and baseball playoffs.
The varsity game will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Bearcat Stadium, with the freshman game being played during last period.
The Aledo Bearcats baseball team will face Canyon in a best-of-3 regional semifinals series beginning Friday, May 29.
Game one will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Lubbock Christian University.
Game 2 will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at McMurry University in Abilene, with game three, if necessary, to follow.
As reported here earlier, the Aledo Ladycats softball team has set its regional finals series with Azle.
All games will be played at Chisholm Trail High School.

The No. 1 Aledo Ladycats softball team and the Bearcats baseball team each advanced in the playoffs with wins on Saturday. The Ladycats defeated Canyon twice to come from behind and take the regional semifinal series two games to one. The Ladycats will advance to the regional finals and face Azle in a rematch of last year's regional final.
The Bearcats rolled past Birdville on Saturday in the rubber game of a best of 3 regional quarterfinal series to advance in the playoffs. The Bearcats will advance to the regional semifinals and face the winner of the Plainview/Canyon series. Check here later for details on both upcoming series.

In a game that saw only six hits allowed combined from Aledo pitcher Isaac Hale and Birdville hurler Jordan Martinson, the Birdville Hawks came out on top with a 1-0 win over the defending state-champion Aledo Bearcats Thursday night at Glen Rose High School in the opener of a best-of-three regional quarterfinals series.
Game two will be at 4 p.m. Friday, May 22 at Arlington Heights High School.
If a third game is necessary it will be played at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at Arlington Heights.
Martinson allowed two hits while walking four and striking out nine in seven innings to earn the win.
Hale allowed four hits with three walks and five strikeouts in six innings to take the loss.
In a rematch of last year’s regional quarterfinals series, the Aledo Bearcats will face the Birdville Hawks in a best-of-3 regional quarterfinal series that begins today.
Weather has forced a change in the series schedule. The opening game game of the series will be played at 7:30 p.m. today at Glen Rose High School.
Weather also forced rescheduling the remaining games, which will now be played at Arlington Heights High School. Game two will be at 4 p.m. Friday, May 22, and game three, if necessary, at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 23.
The Bearcats enter the series riding momentum from winning two games on Saturday over Wichita Falls Rider to clinch the series after they dropped the opener.
