Ex Libris, Weatherford Public Library’s only book club for young adults lets teens talk books. ANY book. In this book club there are no assigned texts, only themes. Participants can pick any book within that theme and share their opinion with others – love it or hate it, just let the world know what you think! January’s theme is Science Fiction and Ex Libris meets Thursday, 1/13/11, from 4pm to 5pm and Thursday, 1/27/11, from 4pm to 5pm.

WPL Tribe

WPL Tribe, the new favorite, meets on Thursdays every two weeks to let both avowed artists and dabblers craft their own vision. Every gathering will feature a spotlight project or teens can sit back with a blank sheet and take their own lead. For January, WPL Tribe meets Thursday, 1/20/11, from 4pm to 5pm.

Sessions feature the screening of several anime series episodes, both old and new, allowing teens to sample the best that anime has to offer! Join us for a special session on Tuesday, 1/18/11, from 4pm to 5pm and on Monday, 1/31/11, from 4pm to 5pm.

Winter chill fills the air, but Storytime warms the heart with the best in books, songs and fun for toddlers, preschoolers and the adults who love them. Come to the Weatherford Public Library every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. when Ms. Donna and Ms. Kathleen share their favorite books at Storytime! Our year-long mission pledge to promote children’s literacy starts with the best stories and continues with fun games and music that kids love. Two groups are available with developmentally appropriate activities for different ages: Toddlertime for children birth to 3 and Preschool Storytime for kids 4 to 6. Each Wednesday promises new opportunities to laugh, learn and grow!
