The Weatherford Chamber of Commerce will host the Annual Christmas on the Square Holiday Celebration from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, in Historic Downtown Weatherford.
The Annual Christmas Parade will kick off the festivities starting at 10 a.m. at the Weatherford Ninth Grade Center, and will make its way up South Main, around the Courthouse, head west on Palo Pinto Street and pass by Cherry Park. Call 817-596-3801 for more information.
Residents of Parker County are invited to participate in the
Parker County Courthouse Christmas Lighting Ceremony set for
7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 30.
Parker County Judge Mark Riley, in an effort to help fundraising for this
year’s courthouse Christmas decorations, is offering Parker County residents
the opportunity to sponsor a battery-operated candle for $20 to be placed in the courthouse windows in honor or memory of a loved one. Those who would like to sponsor a candle can do so by contacting Judge Riley at email@example.com or by calling his offi ce at 817-598-

First Baptist Church of Weatherford’s LIGHT Women’s Ministry presents the Third Annual Craft & Gift Market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16. Admission is free. More than 35 vendors will be on site. Door prizes awill be offered hourly. A quilt raffle will benefit Christmas Shoebox Ministry and a bake sale/lunch fundraiser will benefit the youth ministry.

The 6th Annual Holland Lake Nursing Center Baking Contest will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14th.
All proceeds from the event will go to Parker County United Way.
The Doss Heritage and Culture Center in Weatherford will hold its Second Annual Western Art Show and Sale on Nov. 8. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The event includes dinner from Copper Creek Restaurant and will feature Red Steagall as host. The art show and sale features 12 professional artists and over 36 pieces of art attendees can go home with that evening. Tickets are $100 per person and can be purchased on the Doss Heritage and Culture Center’s website at www.dosscenter.org.
“Our list of artists couldn’t be stronger,” said Amanda Rush, Curator at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center. “And art buyers should be thrilled; we will have paintings, sculptures, such a variety of mediums,” she continued. Many of the participating artists are members of the Cowboy Artists of America, an organization that has as its mission to authentically preserve and perpetuate the culture of Western life in fine art.

The City of Weatherford will celebrate its second annual Downtown Heritage Stampede from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12. The event features the Buffalo Bill's Cowboy Band, The Legends of Texas, western vendors, Antique Alley and Kids Area. The City of Weatherford Main Street Program will host the third annual Weatherford Blooms Home & Garden Fest in Historic Downtown Weatherford from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 27. All four quadrants of the square will be blooming with home and garden vendors, antique tractors, entertainment, food and fun. Christmas on the Square
The Weatherford Chamber of Commerce will have its annual Christmas on the Square from 12-5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1 on the Historic Weatherford Downtown Square.
Festivities will begin with a parade at 10 a.m. at the Weatherford Ninth Grade Center and make its way up South Main, around the Courthouse, head West on Palo Pinto Street and pass by Cherry Park. Downtown stores will have shopping and treats including hot chocolate, cupcakes, cookies and candy canes. Businesses and organizations will be thanking the community for their support throughout this year by handing out samples and treats and many of the vendors and stores will offer special prices and sales.
Live Ice Sculpting will be a new addition to this year’s festivities. Two live entertainment stages will showcase holiday music and talents. Other activities include free horse-drawn carriage rides, Kids’ Area, mini-train rides and roaming Christmas characters such as the Grinch and Chris-Moose. Also back by popular demand is the Classic Car Show on the Southeast quadrant of the square.

The 24th annual Peach Pedal will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 14 at Weatherford High School. Routes options are 100 kilometers, 39 miles, 26 miles and 9 miles. Online registration, maps and other information are available at www.peachpedal.com. The registration fee is $25 by June 30, $30 from July 1 to July 13, and $35 on ride day. The City of Weatherford will have a Special Meeting of the Transportation Advisory Board at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24 in the Council Chambers of the Weatherford City Hall, located at 303 Palo Pinto Street. The public is invited to attend. The Board will discuss and receive public input on 2012 Weatherford Transportation Plan.
