A meet and greet for the new executive director of the Parker County Senior Center, Susan Baer, will be held Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 9-10 a.m. at the center, 1225 Holland Lake Dr. in Weatherford.

Parker County Senior Center hosts the fifth annual Bag Lady Luncheon, Spooktacular Affair, Thursday, Oct. 30 at the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse building in Weatherford. Silent auction preview starts at 11 a.m. with the luncheon from 12-1.
Donations of new and used designer, vintage or handcrafted purses are being sought to be auctioned. These donations are tax-deductible and can be made by, calling 817-596-4640, emailing email@example.com, or bringing them into the Senior Center staff offices on the east side of the building at 1225 Holland Lake Drive.
Reserved tables and sponsorships are available at $700 and $500 (table of eight).
The annual Jerry’s GM Bar-B-Q and Silent Auction benefiting Services of Seniors will be Thursday, Feb. 20 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse in Weatherford. Jake Hooker and the Outsiders will perform.

Former Miss America Shirley Cothran Barret will be the featured speaker at the annual Bag Lady Luncheon on Thursday, Aug. 29 at the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Building. The silent auction preview begins at 11 a.m. Lunch will be from 12-1 p.m. Donations are being accepted for designer and vintage purses and jewelry for the silent auction. Tickets to the event are $40 and proceeds benefit the Parker County Senior Center. The proceeds will go to the local Meals-on-Wheels program. Contestants will be judged on evening wear, talent and an interview by the master of ceremonies. The Parker County Senior Center will hold a stew and cornbread supper from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 at the center, located at 1225 Holland Lake Drive in Weatherford. Tickets are on sale now for $7. For more information, call 817-596-4640.
The 10th Annual Ms. Senior Parker County Pageant will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday,
May 14 at the Weatherford College Alkek Auditorium. Any lady 60 or older who is a resident of Parker County is eligible to enter the pageant.
Each contestant will be judged on the following: formal evening wear, talent, and personal interview. The contestant selling the most tickets will win a prize.
