Luncheon

Mr. Chuck Katlic
Mr. Chuck Katlic will be the guest speaker at the Parker County Republican Women meeting at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8 at the Doss Heritage and Cultural Center.

Mr. Katlic, of the 99th Infantry Division, is an honored veteran of WW II and survivor of the Battle of the Bulge. He will discuss his experiences from his life.

Mr. Katlic is renowned in our community for his love of country and the American Flag. He oversees the placing of flags on veteran’s graves on Memorial Day, Veterans’ Day and July 4. He recruits local Boy Scouts and American Heritage Girls to help him distribute thousands of flags. Katlic, a verifiable octogenarian, is also active in proper disposal of the flags.

He is chaplain for the American Legion Post 163 and active in the van program that transports veterans back and forth to the hospitals in Fort Worth and Dallas. He is also an active member of VFW Post No. 4746.

Before coming to Weatherford, Katlic worked 38 years as a machinist in the shipyards in Maryland. Then he volunteered in National Parks and with the Sari Indians in Mexico.

Dorrie O’Brien will be the guest speaker at the meeting of the Parker County Republican Women on Thursday, Oct. 11 at the Doss Heritage Center in Weatherford. Dorrie has been a national mentor for ACT! for America for three years, an organization dedicated to enacting legislation against Sharia law. O’Brien serves her community as election judge, delegate to several Republican state conventions, Chair of Organization and Nominations Committee SD 9. Olson to speak to GOP women

Mrs. Kimberly Olson, Colonel, United States Air Force retired, the Executive Director of Grace After Fire, will be the featured guest at the monthly meeting of Parker County Republican Women at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9 at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center in Weatherford.
Grace After Fire is a Texas-based non-profit organization dedicated to providing outreach to all women veterans and their families, offering confidential peer support and increasing access to appropriate trauma, mental health, addiction, and community services. Olson also serves as a trustee on the Weatherford ISD School Board, which was recently recognized as “Outstanding Board of the Year for Texas.” Her most recent educational experience included working as the HR Director for Dallas Independent School System, the second largest school district in Texas. Known for her global perspective, she has been the keynote speaker throughout the country and appeared on C-Span, international and local TV and radio shows. After more than two decades of serving her nation, she makes her home in Weatherford.
