Calling all Young Business Leaders to the After Hours Mixer Tuesday, Feb. 25 from 4:30-6 p.m. at Copper Creek. Come enjoy light appetizers and a cash bar while getting to know the other young business leaders in the area.
The February After Hours Mixer is a great time for new prospective members to attend. Along with a great opportunity to meet other Young Business Professionals, all attendees who participate in networking will have a chance to win an iPad Mini.
The Young Business Leaders will have an activity each month, either a luncheon or an after hours mixer. Later in the year, there will be an opportunity to be a part of Leadership Weatherford. Come to this mixer to learn how to be involved and learn more about the community.

Dining and Dancing in the Dark, benefiting the Foundation Fighting Blindness, will be held at Fish Creek Restaurant in Willow Park Saturday, Feb. 8 from 6:30-11 p.m.

Impact Athletic Training Center will hold a Parents Night Out event from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on the third Friday of every month beginning Friday, Jan. 17. Activities include trampolines, tumbling, games, dancing and more. Concessions will be available.
The cost is $12. Children must be at least 4-years-old to participate.

The Millsap Neighborhood Home & Garden Club will be having a special Lamplight Spaghetti Dinner Feb. 8 between 4 and 8 p.m. at the Millsap Community Center in the 100 block of Fannin Street (also known as 113.) The cost is $7 and children under 5 are free. Dinner will include spaghetti with meat sauce or meatless sauce, salad, rolls, tea and coffee. There will be a Sweet Shoppe with home cooked desserts at great prices. There will also be a raffle drawing for five great prizes, all worth more than $50 each and you don't have to be present to win. The proceeds from the dinner, which will be cooked by the members of the Millsap Neighborhood Home & Garden Club, and the raffle tickets will go to help send Millsap children to college.

The Painted Post Chapter of Legacy Outfitters announces its first Varmint Hunting Contest Jan. 25-26.
The event features 80 percent payback, with 20 percent benefiting the Painted Post Chapter of Legacy Outfitters, a Christian-based organization whose goal is to enrich the lives of men so they are better husbands, fathers, and community members.
“Hunting is allowed anywhere in the state of Texas that you have permission to hunt or on state land where varmint hunting is legal and you have the necessary permit and license,” event organizer Monty Mitchell said, adding that participants must have a valid Texas hunting license and follow all relevant laws.
Hunters in groups of up to four receive points for mountain lions, bobcats, coyotes, foxes, raccoons, and hogs. Prizes include a Remington 700 VSF 22-250 with a Vortex Viper scope and Wicked Lights marksman kit donated by Bargain Hunters Outdoors of Weatherford, as well as a bobcat mount donated by Backwoods Taxidermy in Mineral Wells.
The event also features special prizes for hunters younger than 17 and several optional side pots.
Mitchell encouraged hunters of all ages to sign up for the event. Non-hunting family members are invited to a free luncheon at the Palo Pinto County Sheriff’s Posse at weigh-in, set for noon Sunday, Jan. 26.

An organizational meeting for a Rotary Club in Aledo will be held Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the Railhead Smokehouse BBQ, 120 S. Ranch House Rd. in Willow Park.
The Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District at Stockyards Station rescheduled its annual “Christmas in the Stockyards” to Saturday, Dec. 14, due to weather concerns.
The event (originally scheduled for Sat., Dec. 7) will be held on the lawn of the Fort Worth Livestock Exchange Building, inside Stockyards Station and along East Exchange Avenue. This is a free holiday event centered on western heritage activities that the entire family can enjoy.
Activities include live music with children’s choirs, a coloring contest at the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, Cowboy Santa, pony rides and armadillo races. The Stockyards Christmas Parade begins at 4 p.m. with the tree lighting at the conclusion of the parade. For more information, visit www.stockyardsstation.com.

The T and Stockyards Station will host the annual Holiday Lights $5 bus tours of more than 200 decorated homes on Saturday, Dec. 14, and Sunday, Dec. 15, starting with pre-bus boarding festivities at 5:30 p.m. at Stockyards Station, 130 East Exchange Avenue in the Fort Worth Stockyards followed by bus tour departures from 6:30 to 7 p.m.
The Holiday Lights tour price of $5 per person covers a 1 ½ hour round-trip bus tour and all pre-tour activities. Children ages 5 and younger are free. No reservations are required and parking is free north of Stockyards Station. Paid parking also is available.
Holiday activities at Stockyards Station before bus boarding begins include visits and free photos with Santa for all ages, face-painting, balloon artists, holiday music, hot chocolate and Christmas cookies.
During the Holiday Lights tour, a group of neighborhood carolers will greet each bus and costumed elves will provide candy canes to children.
Holiday Lights bus tour ticket sales and pre-tour activities begin inside the Stockyards Station mall at 5:30 p.m. and end at 7 p.m. The T’s buses load and depart from 6:30 to 7 p.m. for the tour of holiday-lighted homes.
