The Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA) will hold their third annual craft and vendor fair from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, 1802 Bethel Road, Weatherford. Goods will be available from over 35 crafters and vendors, and a bake sale will help raise funds for scholarship funds as well as local charities.

Eagle Flying Museum will have an open house from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 3003 FM 1195, Mineral Wells, 76086. Old and new airplanes will be on display. Museum airplanes will fly. Activities include lunch at Burger Barn, a FlyMart sale, a local author’s book signing, 50/50 cash raffle, World War II movies and training films and kids games. Admission is free. The 4th annual Wright Chiropractic Hot Dog Trot will be at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3 at Parker County Physical Therapy. This year’s event benefits the Society for Organ Donor Awareness (SODA), a group dedicated to educating the public about the need for viable life saving organ and tissue donation. Runners can register their dog(s) to run with them in the 1K fun run or in the certified 5K run. The schedule of events provides something for everybody, not just runners. Vendors will be present for an opportunity to begin some Christmas shopping, bounce houses and the popular canine contests are scheduled throughout the morning.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. with the 1K Fun Run at 8 a.m. followed by the certified 5K at 8:30 a.m. Awards will be presented at 9:30 a.m. The canine contests will begin with the Doggie Costume contest at 10 a.m. followed by the Talent Show at 10:30 a.m.
Packet pick-up will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1 at Hibbitts Sports in Weatherford.

All Saints Day Labyrinth Walk
University Christian Church will have an All Saints Day Labyrinth Walk from 12-3 p.m. on November 4 at University Christian Church, 2720 S. University Drive in Fort Worth. All Saints Day is a day of remembrance of those that have gone before us. The labyrinth will be open for all who wish to walk. There will be hand chimes available for a portion of the walk to add to the experience. For the protection of the fabric, socks without shoes (unless needed for medical support) are worn to walk the labyrinth. Clean socks will be provided for those who need them.

The annual Light the Night walk with Team Leah Vann will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21 on 7th Street in Fort Worth. Walk or donate to help the fight against leukemia (AML). Leah Vann, a senior at Aledo High School, was diagnosed on Nov. 10, 2011 with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). After a year of treatment at Cook’s Children’s and St. Jude’s hospitals Leah remains in remission. Leah is an honored hero and a survivor. Her father is a remembered hero, Dr. Barry L. Vann. All ages are invited to participate in the 2-3 mile walk. Students can use this as volunteer opportunity. The Texas Business Women of Parker County will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18 at Weatherford College in the Strain Room of the Doss Student Center. John M. Rogers will be the guest speaker and will speak about the Health Care Act. Texas Business Women is for women of all ages in Parker County who work at home or outside the home. The Aledo Project Prayers for the classes of 8-12 will be from 7:30-9:15 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 12 at Agape Coffee Haus. The purpose of Project Prayer is to have every student in Aledo from the 8th grade through 12th grade prayed for, by name, on a regular basis. Participants can either exchange a current prayer card or pick up a prayer card for 10 students if you don't have one.
