Garden Party

The 10th Annual Garden Party will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, at AJ Hood Pioneer Home on 1279 Jenkins Road in Aledo.

Kristin Bryan, Aledo author of “Bearcats' Path to Victory,” will read to children at the 10:30 story time on Friday, Feb. 15 at the East Parker County Library. In addition, copies of her new book will be available for purchase and signing.

Library to benefit from matching donations

Giving Day: The East Parker County Library will receive matching funds from Donor Bridge Sept. 13, designated as North Texas Giving Day. On that day, from 7 a.m. until midnight, anyone can visit www.DonorBridgeTX.org and make a minimum $25 donation to the East Parker County Library. The library will receive a share of one million dollars set aside as matching funds for non-profit organizations. When visiting the site, search for East Parker County Library.

Anita Bond, recipient of the "Never Give Up" Award, will have a birthday celebration at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 2 at the East Parker County Library. The Friends of the East Parker County Library will present the ninth annual Garden Party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19 at the AJ Hood pioneer home, 1279 Jenkins Road. Activities will include a book sale, BBQ lunch, music by Clear Fork Jazz, flower gifts, children’s activities and the popular flower hat contest.
