Willow Park PD hosting drug take back

Willow Park police, in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Administration, will take part in national drug take back day Saturday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Willow Park City Hall, 516 Ranch House Road.

The public can turn in expired, unused or unwanted pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications. Participants can remain in their vehicles and can remain anonymous. Intravenous solutions, injectibles and syringes will not be accepted. Other liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in the original container.

The city of Willow Park's annual ParkFest celebration will be held Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 101 Stagecoach Trail.
A vendor booth registration form is available on the city's website, www.willowpark.org, and more information will be posted as the event nears.

The City of Willow Park will celebrate its 50th year of incorporation at the 10th annual ParkFest in Willow Park. The free event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will include food trucks, arts and craft booths, music by a variety of bands all day long, children's games and activities for all ages. Free cupcakes furnished by Brookshire's - Willow Park and Chicken Express Sweet Tea will be available along with a brochure about the history of Willow Park furnished by the East Parker County Genealogy and Historical Society. Come inside the Community Center to see the five-minute slide presentation about the history of the city while enjoying refreshments. The celebration will take place at the corner of Ranch House Rd. and Stagecoach Tr. in Willow Park.

The City of Willow Park will celebrate ParkFest 2011 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Community Center grounds on Ranch House Road. Live music will feature Ryan Turner, Rocky Lott, Evenfold, and Joe, Eric and Friends. A second stage will feature a variety of acts and concessions will be sold by the Willow Park Fire Dept. More than 40 arts and crafts vendors will be at the festival.
