Moritz Ride for Heroes
The 13th annual Moritz Ride for Heroes bicycle ride benefiting the volunteer fire departments of East Parker County and the Sheriff’s Reserve will take place Saturday, April 18.
Five routes begin at 8:30 a.m. at Aledo High School and wind through southeast Parker County from eight to 70 miles, ending at AHS.
Riders will receive dry-fit shirts and a hamburger lunch as well as homemade cookies and other refreshments at the rest stops.

The 12th annual Moritz Ride For Heroes is planned Saturday, April 19 in Aledo.
Race time is 8:30 a.m., and ride routes ranging from 8 to 70 miles are available.
All routes begin at Aledo High School on Bailey Ranch Road

Benefactors of the ride include Aledo Volunteer Fire Department,
Hudson Oaks Fire Rescue, Willow Park Fire/Rescue, Parker County Sheriff's Reserve,
Weatherford Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association and
Parker County Center of Hope.
Since the first ride in 2003, almost $400,000 has been disbursed.
Numerous rest stops are staffed by Aledo High School organizations.
Moritz Ride for Heroes will begin at 8:30 a.m. on April 20 at Aledo High School. The 11th annual bike ride primarily benefits the fire departments of East Parker County and the Parker County Sheriff’s Reserve. The course has six routes, ranging from 8 to 75 miles long. Riders receive a free hamburger lunch and T-shirt. Early registrants also receive a chance to win a new bicycle. The 9th Annual Moritz Chevrolet Ride for Heroes will be Saturday, April 16 starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Aledo High School Complex. The Ride, benefiting the Aledo, Hudson Oaks and Willow Park Fire Departments, the Sheriff's Reserve and Center of Hope, is expecting over 1500 riders with routes of 8, 22, 34, 44, 60 and 82 miles through East Parker County. The entry fee is $25 till April 9th, and $30 after. Ages 15 and under receive a $10 discount and must be accompanied by an adult.
