“An Evening with the Arts” will be held Thursday, March 19 from 5-7 p.m. at the Daniel Ninth Grade Campus.
Fifth-12th grade art students will have artwork on display. The AISD jazz band, “I am Clark Kent,” and Mrs. Rucker’s Theater II class will perform an original work just for the occasion.
The Aledo Ladycats and Bearcats softball and baseball teams were state champions in 2014. And now both teams are going to be defending their state championships. "Meet the Ladycats and Bearcats" is Monday, Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. With the probability of inclement weather, the event will be held in the high-school indoor facility. Players will autograph posters, and all boys and girls are welcome to bring balls for the players to sign.
Freshman orientation for the Aledo High School Class of 2019 will be held Monday, Feb. 2.
Orientation will begin at 6 p.m. in the Aledo High School Auditorium where students and parents will receive important pre-registration information for the 201516 school year. Following this brief orientation, students and parents are invited to tour the Ninth Grade Campus and gather information about the courses and extracurricular opportunities available to students next year.

Aledo High school is also holding an Info Expo for incoming 10th, 11th and 12th grade students from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at AHS.
The Cadets of Parker County are hosting a winter guard and color guard competition Saturday, Jan. 31 at 9 a.m. at Aledo High School.
Ticket price is $7, and for students with ID, $5.
Some 72 guards representing about 60 schools and coming from as far away as Odessa will compete.
Aledo has hosted the contest for the last 10 plus years.
The Cadets of Parker County will kick off the contest at 9 a.m. The AHS junior varsity squad performs at 12:24 p.m. and the AHS varsity at 8:34 p.m.
The Aledo High School homecoming parade will be held Monday, Sept. 22 in the area of the high school at 6 p.m., followed by a community pep rally at 7 p.m.
Meet The Bearcats will be held from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14 at the Aledo High School Indoor Facility. Fans and children will get the opportunity to meet and get autographs from Bearcat varsity football players and varsity cheerleaders. The Spirit Squad will also be present, as will Mr. and Ms. Bearcat. Bearcats head coach Tim Buchanan will also introduce the team captains for the 2014 season. The event will also have activities for children. Admission is free.
Aledo High School has partnered with Huntington to offer a free practice ACT Sunday, April 13 from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Students must register at Huntingtonexamprep.com. Project Celebration 2017 is hosting a garage sale.
Please plan on stopping by Friday, Feb. 28 and Saturday, March 1 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Aledo.
Those with any donations to add to the garage sale, please stop by. Receipts for big items can be issued, if needed for tax purposes.
Proceeds benefit the after-prom celebration for the Class of 2017 at Aledo High School, those students who are now freshmen.

If you have an address change, please notify them at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 817-441-8327 before Jan. 23. Season Ticket Renewals will be sent by mail to the addresses on file after that date.
Aledo Colorguard is hosting its annual NTCA Colorguard Competition Friday, Jan. 31 from 6 to 10:30 p.m. p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the Aledo High School gym.
Friday’s event will have 39 schools competing, and there will be 70 schools Saturday. Aledo has hosted this competition for more than eight years.
The guards travel to Aledo from the DFW metropolitan and surrounding areas for this competition, which is open to the public. Tickets are $7 per day, and children under 7 are free.
“Everyone is invited to come and enjoy great competition with some amazing talent,” said Junior Marquez, Aledo ISD colorguard director.
