Safe Sitter Basic Class

The Texas AgriLife Extension Service Safe Sitter Basic Class will be held June 29 and August 9 at the Parker County Agricultural Service Center in Weatherford. The class will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The classes will be for youth 11 through 14 years old. The Safe Sitter® Basic Class is a 6 and a half hour course that will include Babysitting as a Business, Success on the Job, Child Care Essentials, Safety for the Sitter, Injury Management, Preventing Problem Behavior, Care of Choking Infant, and Care of Choking Child. It introduces Preventing Injuries and Behavior Management. The cost of the course is $35 and will include workbooks, supplies and lunch. Adventure Camp

The Texas AgriLife Extension Service Adventure Camp will be offered July 14 and 15 from 9 a.m. to Noon at the Parker County Agricultural Service Center in Weatherford. This class is for youth 8 through 12 years old. They kids will learn about fishing, wildlife identification, knot tying, camping and more. There will be an adventure Olympics, crafts, games and more. The cost to attend the two day workshop is $45 per child.

Kitchen Boot Camp II

The Texas AgriLife Extension Service Kitchen Boot Camp II will take place July 19-21 at the Parker County Agricultural Service Center in Weatherford. There will be two classes for two different age groups. Morning classes will be from 9 a.m. to Noon for youth 6 to 9 years old. The afternoon classes will be from 2 to 5 p.m. for kids 10 and older.

Kitchen Boot Camp is designed to teach kids how to cook. The hands-on training will include all safety rules needed to work in a kitchen. Each child will experience working alongside an adult using kitchen appliances and utensils. They will learn how to read and understand cooking terminology. Each child will have the opportunity to eat and enjoy what they have prepared.
