The East Parker County Library will have the “It’s Treasure!” program, part of its Summer Reading Program on Saturday, July 2 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The program is for kids pre-K through Elementary, and teens can log reading hours to win prizes. Registration begins June 4.

Sewing Camp

The Texas AgriLife Extension Service Sewing Camp is a class that will be offered July 5 and 6 at the Parker County Agricultural Service Center in Weatherford for youth age 8 and up, and adults. The classes will be from 1:30 to 5 p.m. The class will cover the basics of sewing and participants will make a String Bag or backpack and shorts. The cost for the camp is $15 per person and will cover some supplies. There is a list of supplies that are needed for the class and are available from the County Extension Office. Safe Sitter Basic Class

The Texas AgriLife Extension Service Safe Sitter Basic Class will be held June 29 and August 9 at the Parker County Agricultural Service Center in Weatherford. The class will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The classes will be for youth 11 through 14 years old. The Safe Sitter® Basic Class is a 6 and a half hour course that will include Babysitting as a Business, Success on the Job, Child Care Essentials, Safety for the Sitter, Injury Management, Preventing Problem Behavior, Care of Choking Infant, and Care of Choking Child. It introduces Preventing Injuries and Behavior Management. The cost of the course is $35 and will include workbooks, supplies and lunch.
