Simons 60th Anniversary

Melvin and Billye SimonsOn Dec. 9, 2008, Melvin and Billye Simons of Weatherford celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married in Kermit on Dec. 9, 1948 by Bro. Strauss Atkinson and resided there until their move to Weatherford in 1971. Until their retirement in 1990, the Simons were self-employed in the trucking business. In 1998, Melvin was elected to the Office of Justice of the Peace of Precinct 4 and is currently serving in that position.

Norman 50th Anniversary

James and Artie WilsonJames E. Norman and Artie Gray Wilson Norman will celebrate 50 years together on Dec. 27, 2008.
The event, hosted by their children, Lance Norman, Holly Norman, and Shannon Benoit, will be held at the Aledo Church of Christ from 2 to 5 p.m. Friends are invited to attend.
The Normans were married on Dec. 27, 1958 and have made their home in the Aledo-Weatherford area since 1972. They met at Sam Houston State University and both graduated from the Huntsville school.

Harper anniversary

Harper anniversary Bro. Bob and Patsy Harper, pastor of New Faith Baptist Church, will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception on Saturday, August 25, 2007 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Aledo Community Center in Aledo located at 200 Old Annetta Road. Friends and family are invited. No gifts please.
