City of Willow ParkTonight's public hearing at the Willow Park Planning and Zoning Commission meeting has been canceled.
The commission was to discuss an area of the city behind the Brookshire's grocery store that involved the development of a high-end apartment complex. After an estimated 100 citizens were going to attend tonight's meeting opposing the apartments, the property owner, based in San Francisco, withdrew the application.
Willow Park Century 21 Realtor Paul Scharbach, who is handling the establishment of the land locally, said that pursuing the complex project and attending tonight's meeting would be like "walking into a bee hive."
