Thursday, Dec. 8, is an early-release date for staff development for all Aledo ISD schools. Elementary schools will dismiss at 11 a.m., and secondary campuses will dismiss at noon. All Pre-K and PPCD program students will ride the bus to school for A.M. classes only and release at 11 a.m. Secondary classes (grades 6-12) will release at noon. Buses will run accordingly to accommodate these schedules.
Concerns about safety and student computer use are not new to parents or school districts. In an effort to increase the safety of our community, Aledo ISD will host a representative from the U.S. Department of Justice to address Internet Safety on Tuesday, Sept. 21. The presentation is in the Aledo High School Distance Learning Lab at 6 p.m.
This event is part of Aledo’s second annual “CyberSmart Week.” Each day during the week, Sept. 20-24, students will be given instruction on issues related to safe, ethical, and successful computer use. The nonprofit www.Cybersmart.org Web site will form the basis of this instruction. It provides grade-level appropriate information in five areas:
S - Safety and Security Online
M - Manners, Cyberbullying, and Ethics
