Aledo ISD School News
A motor vehicle sideswiped an Aledo ISD School Bus on Canyon Lake Road this afternoon. None of the students on the bus were injured. Aledo ISD Superintendent, Don Daniel, said ISD Officials were on the scene and notifying parents of the students remaining on the bus at the time of the incident.

Aledo star running back Johnathan Gray can now associate his name with the great Tom Landry. Gray was presented with the Tom Landry Award for being the best high school football player in North Texas. The award, in its first year of presentation, is awarded to players that excell on and off the field.
Gray and Aledo head coach Tim Buchanan were handed the bronze award live on TXA 21 Thursday night. The award is a replica of Landry's signature fedora.

This Thursday, Dec. 9. from 4-6 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 10 from 4-5 p.m. the students of Aledo Ninth Grade Campus will paint car windows in orange and black to show Bearcat Pride. The students will be lined up in the Ninth Grade Campus/High School drop-off and pick-up area, so swing by and let them help you show off your spirit! Car painting is free, yet donations will be gladly accepted.

Aledo BasketballThe Ladycats stayed undefeated at home with a 65-31 win over Parker County rival Weatherford Tuesday night and the boys basketball team lost a chance at getting their first win of the season with less than 30 seconds on the clock in a 42-37 loss to Southwest Christian.

Re-rematch against Stephenville next week for Regional crown

Sweetwater, TX- Matthew Bishop passed for a season high four touchdown passes in a 40-14 victory over the Hereford Whitefaces in the region semi-final game played in Sweetwater. The Bearcats will play the Stephenville Yellow Jackets in the regional finals next Friday night at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco.
