Aledo defeated Burleson 25-11, 25-23, 25-22 in the regional quarterfinal match at Haltom High School on Tuesday, Nov 8.
The Ladycats will play old Nemesis Canyon Randall at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov 11 at Kimbrell Arena at McMurry University in Abilene as the first round of the Regional Tournament.

The Aledo Bearcat Regiment placed 13th in the UIL State Marching Band competition on Tuesday, Nov. 8 in San Antonio. Aledo was the 24th 4A band to march in the 4A preliminaries. Following their performance, the Baylor University band performed while judges deliberated.
The band received an outpouring of support from community supporters who made the trip to San Antonio.

The Aledo Bearcat Regiment will be the final band competing at the UIL State Band Competition at the San Antonio Alamodome on Tuesday, Nov. 8. The band will march at 4 p.m.
Following the preliminary competition and an exhibition by the Baylor University marching band, the finalists will be announced, and 4A final competition will be at 7 p.m.

Aledo takes the ball first at the East end of Bearcat Stadium. 6 plays later, 3 runs each from Matt Bishop and Johnathan Gray, including a 5 yard touchdown run for Johnathan, Aledo scores first with less than 10 minutes left in the 1st quarter 7-0 Bearcats.
The Brewer Bears make a series of 1st downs before having to punt the ball back to Aledo. A nice punt pins the Bearcats deep in their own territory and a fumble on the second play of the drive results in a turnover.
Brewer gets the ball back deep in Aledo's end of the field. They tie it up at 7-7 with 4:45 left in the 1st quarter.
Caleb Frysinger returns the kickoff out to the Aledo 34 yard line where The Bearcats will start their possession.
A 3 play drive finishes with a 44 yard pass and run to Johnathan Gray from Matt Bishop, a Chance Nevarez PAT, and Aledo leads 14-7 with 3:30 left in the 1st quarter.
Aledo holds and will take over on their own 17 yard line after a Brewer punt. Unable to move the ball they punt the ball back to Brewer, who will set up shop at their own 47 yard line as the 1st quarter comes to a close.

The Aledo Ladycats volleyball team defeated Cleburne tonight by scores of 25-16, 21-25, 25-21, and 25-14 to win the Area Championship. Aledo will face Burleson in the Regional Quarterfinal for the right to appear in the Regional Tournament at McMurry University next weekend.
Burleson defeated Azle 25-18, 25-17, 23-25, 25-13.
The Aledo-Burleson game will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 at Haltom High School.
The Aledo Ladycats will play Cleburne for the Area Championship at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 at Joshua High School. The Ladycats defeated Western Hills for the bi-district championship on Tuesday, 25-12, 25-13, 25-7. Cleburne defeated Waco Midway 26-24, 25-17, 25-18.

The Aledo Ladycats defeated Western Hills on Thursday, Nov. 1 at the Wilkerson-Greines Center in Fort Worth in three straight games, 25-12, 25-13, 25-7. Aledo will play the winer of the Cleburne/Waco Midway match. Additional playoff details will be posted when available.

The Class AAAA Division II Bi-District Football Play-off Game between Fort Worth Dunbar and Aledo will be played at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10 at Bearcat Stadium in Aledo. Pre-sell tickets will be $7 for adults and $5 for students. All tickets will be $8 at the gate.
Beginning Thursday, Nov. 3 and each Thursday from 4-6 p.m. through the rest of the football season students at the Don Daniel Ninth Grade Campus will paint windows orange to show Bearcat pride.
The window painters will be lined up in the drop-off and pick-up area. Car window painting is free, but donations will be gladly accepted.
The Ninth Grade Campus recently had an assembly to share the Rachel’s Challenge program with students. As part of the program, students are implementing the Friends of Rachel group on the campus, which will promote a positive change in the school’s climate on a more permanent basis. This group of students and staff will work with the entire population of the school and the community to promote values such as kindness, respect, and compassion. Proceeds from Paint the Town Orange will help fund the efforts.

Cross country runners Kandace Canaday and Colby Caldwell will represent Aledo at the regional cross country meet next weekend in Lubbock after qualifying at the District 5-4A Cross Country Meet at Tarrant County College Northeast on Saturday, Oct. 29. Canaday finished fifth in the girls meet, while Caldwell finished eighth in the boys meet. Full details of the cross country meet will be available in the Nov. 4 issue of The Community News.
