The Aledo Bearcat Regiment will hold a Cozy Christmas Celebration featuring all you can eat pancakes for $7, the jazz band, marching video and Christmas music by the High School Bands on Thursday, Dec. 15 at the HHS Cafeteria. Dinner will be served from 5-7 p.m., and the musical entertainment will begin at 7 p.m.
Tickets are available from high school band students or at the door.
Tickets for the Class AAAA Division II State Football Championship between Aledo and Manvel will go on sale Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. at the Bearcat Store in the ALedo ISD Administration building. Tickets will be available at Aledo High School beginning Thursday.
Advance tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students. Tickets at the gate will be $15, and can be purchased through Ticketmaster for an additional fee of $5.30.
Aledo Will be the visiting team and sit on the north side of Cowboys Stadium.
The Aledo Bearcats will face the Manvel Mavericks at noon on Saturday in the 4A Division II State Championship game at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.
Ticket information is pending.
Manvel is located about 24 miles south of Houston. The Mavericks are 15-0 this season. The defeated las year's runner-up, LaMarque, 29-14 in the regular season and again 38-35 in the state quarterfinal. Manvel defeated Calallen 31-28 on Saturday to earn the berth to the state finals.
Aledo is seeking its third consecutive 4A Division II State Championship.

The Aledo Bearcats defeated Gainesville 54-45 on Friday to earn a spot in the Consolation Championship at the Dacatur Tournament on Saturday at noon.
The Ladycats defeated Lubbock Estacado 59-34 to earn a spot in the Tournament Championship Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

Aledo senior running back Johnathan Gray was awarded the 2011-12 Gatorade National Football Player of the Year in an announcement in Aledo on Tuesday morning.
The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, distinguishes Gray as the nation’s best high school football player. A national advisory panel comprised of sport-specific experts and sports journalists helped select Gray from more than 1.1 million high school football players nationwide. Gray is now a finalist for the Gatorade Male High School Athlete of the Year award, to be presented at a special afternoon ceremony prior to The ESPY Awards in July.
The Aledo Ladycats basketball team is ranked 13th in the State of Texas in this week's Texas Association of Basketball Coaches poll.

Thursday, Dec. 8, is an early-release date for staff development for all Aledo ISD schools. Elementary schools will dismiss at 11 a.m., and secondary campuses will dismiss at noon. All Pre-K and PPCD program students will ride the bus to school for A.M. classes only and release at 11 a.m. Secondary classes (grades 6-12) will release at noon. Buses will run accordingly to accommodate these schedules.
Several hundred tickets to Saturday's Aledo-Stephenville game are still available at the Bearcat Store, located in the Aledo ISD Adminsistration building on Bailey Ranch Road. Fans are encourages to purchase tickets locally ($8 for adults, $5 for students) in order to avoid long lines at the stadium in Midlothian.
All tickets at the gate will be $10.

The next stop for the Aledo Bearcats in their quest for a third straight state championship is Midland to face the Canyon Randall Raiders.
The game will be played at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25 at Grande Communications Stadium, located at 5514 Champions Drive.
Aledo will be the visiting team.
