The Community News will provide video highlights of the Aledo/Lake Travis football game tonight (Friday, Sept. 10). Highlights from the first half will be posted as soon as possible during the second half, and additional highlights will be posted after the game.
Beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, Aledo ISD will provide shuttles for this week's home-opening football game against Stephenville High School. Due to the expected overflow amount of traffic, buses will run between Willow Park Baptist Church and Bearcat Stadium, and between Aledo United Methodist Church and Bearcat Stadium.
Pick-up and drop-off schedules will hold true for both Willow Park Baptist Church, located at 129 S. Ranch House Road in Aledo, and Aledo United Methodist Church, at 313 Pecan St.
The Aledo ISD has announced that season tickets can be picked up the first day of school (Aug. 23) at the Bearcat Store in the Administration Building, 1008 Bailey Ranch Road in Aledo.

ALEDO, Texas — May 11, 2010 — Aledo High School senior Mudrekh Goderya has been selected by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals as a member of the TASSP All-State Academic Excellence Team. This prestigious award recognizes Texas high-school seniors for their outstanding academic achievements and the rewards of superior scholarship.
As a member of this team, Goderya will be awarded a $500 scholarship and formally recognized at the TASSP Summer Workshop in Austin on June 10, 2010. He plans to attend the University of Texas at Dallas and major in Physics.
The Aledo High School UIL academic team had three first-place individual finishes and four teams placing first this past Friday and Saturday (April 23-24) at the Region I UIL academic meet in San Angelo.
Also, AHS had six other individuals and one team qualify for the state meet with second and third place finishes.
AHS' One-Act play (Rimers of Eldritch) advanced to state competition, and Derek Shepherd was selected as the regional meet's 'Best Actor." Earning all-star cast from Aledo were Megan Lyles and Logan Rodgers, with Andrea Millard earning an honorable mention.
Tanner Linn, normally the varsity baseball manager at Aledo High, got to suit up and play for the team's game at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington against Midlothian.

Vocalists Sydney Moxley and Savannah Beddingfield (standing) and pianist Caileen Tallant earned UIL Division I at the Solo and Ensemble contest at Crowley High School on Feb. 27.
Caileen performed Chopin's "Mazurka Opus 33 No.1."
Sydney sang "El Majo Discreto" by Granados and Savannah's song was "Nel Co Piu Non Mi Sento" by Paisiello.
The Aledo High School students are scheduled to compete at the State UIL contest in Austin May 29 -31.
