Aledo junior running back Johnathan Gray rushed for 232 yards on 20 carries and reached the end zone five times to pace an offensive attack of 591 total yards as the state-ranked No. 1 Bearcats had little trouble in a 64-0 victory over the Keller Timber Creek Falcons Friday night at Bearcat Stadium on Homecoming Night.
The win - in the District 5-4A opener for both teams - raises the Bearcats overall record to 4-0.

Paced by eight kills each from Aledo senior middle Jordan Jacobs and junior middle Briana Sharratt, the state-ranked No. 11 Ladycats swept Brewer, 25-14, 25-12, 25-11, Friday night in District 5-4A action at Brewer
The win raises the first-place Ladycats district mark to 3-0 and 21-8 overall. Aledo will continue district play at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Boswell.
Concerns about safety and student computer use are not new to parents or school districts. In an effort to increase the safety of our community, Aledo ISD will host a representative from the U.S. Department of Justice to address Internet Safety on Tuesday, Sept. 21. The presentation is in the Aledo High School Distance Learning Lab at 6 p.m.
This event is part of Aledo’s second annual “CyberSmart Week.” Each day during the week, Sept. 20-24, students will be given instruction on issues related to safe, ethical, and successful computer use. The nonprofit www.Cybersmart.org Web site will form the basis of this instruction. It provides grade-level appropriate information in five areas:
S - Safety and Security Online
M - Manners, Cyberbullying, and Ethics
The deadline for registering for the next SAT Prep Course at Aledo High School is Friday, Sept. 24. The course begins Sept. 27 and continues through Oct. 29. This course targets an Oct. 30 practice exam.
Session II begins Jan. 24 with a registration deadline of Jan. 21. The course continues through Feb. 21 with the SAT practice exam set for Feb. 26.
The last course for the 2010-2011 school year begins March 7 with a registration deadline of March 4. It continues through April 15 with a practice exam date of April 16.

No. 2 Aledo stops No. 1 Lake Travis' 48-game win streak with 14-10 victory

For the first time in 49 games, the Lake Travis Cavaliers can now put a mark in the loss column thanks to the Aledo Bearcats.
The Bearcats, who can now lay claim as the best team in Class 4A, defeated the Div. I, 4A Champions 14-10 Friday night with the support of an Aledo crowd that filled up the entire visitor's side - with the addition of three sets of portable bleachers - at Lake Travis High School's Cavalier Stadium.
The Bearcats took the lead for good in the fourth quarter when Johnathan Gray scored from a yard out on 4th and goal with six minutes remaining in the contest.
