Randy Keck/The Community News: The Aledo High School Show Choir performed "Baby It's Cold Outside" at the Holiday in Harmony concert Dec. 14. Choirs from Aledo Middle School and Aledo High School participated in the event.
We are almost under way. The anthem has been played and the Bearcats are set to recieve...the path to State has been paved!
Aledo punts it away after 1 first down. Poteet takes over at their own 20.
The defense stops Poteet on their first possesion. Cunningham muffs the punt but he does recover. Aledo takes over at their own 22 yard line.
Poteet forces another punt as Aledo's offense has yet to get going. The Pirates take over at their own 28.
Poteet missed a 37 yard field goal to give the ball to Aledo on their own 20 yard line.
As the 1st quarter turns to the 2nd, Aledo is forced to punt again. The ball does land inside the 5, so if Aledo holds here they will have great field position.

Aledo star running back Johnathan Gray can now associate his name with the great Tom Landry. Gray was presented with the Tom Landry Award for being the best high school football player in North Texas. The award, in its first year of presentation, is awarded to players that excell on and off the field.
Gray and Aledo head coach Tim Buchanan were handed the bronze award live on TXA 21 Thursday night. The award is a replica of Landry's signature fedora.

The Aledo Bearcat Regiment will perform at several local venues on Saturday to showcase the talents of Aledo’s band members. The band’s annual March-a-Thon earlier this year was canceled due to rain. The band will perform during Christmas Tyme in Aledo at 5 p.m. at the Aledo Community Center. Then, at 6:30, they willplay in the Brookshire’s parking lot in Willow Park. The night will end with an 8 p.m. performance at the Hudson Oaks Wal-Mart.
Aledo BasketballThe Ladycats stayed undefeated at home with a 65-31 win over Parker County rival Weatherford Tuesday night and the boys basketball team lost a chance at getting their first win of the season with less than 30 seconds on the clock in a 42-37 loss to Southwest Christian.

Re-rematch against Stephenville next week for Regional crown

Sweetwater, TX- Matthew Bishop passed for a season high four touchdown passes in a 40-14 victory over the Hereford Whitefaces in the region semi-final game played in Sweetwater. The Bearcats will play the Stephenville Yellow Jackets in the regional finals next Friday night at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco.
