Aledo High School
“Cultivating Careers” is the theme of the 2011 Ag Backers Association Auction and fish fry beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Philip W. Bradford Agricultural Science Building on the campus of Aledo High School. The silent auction and diner begin at 5 p.m., and the live auction is at 7 p.m.
Among items available will be an autographed guitar donated by Terry Hyles, two electric feeders (300 lb. and 500 lb.) donated by Bryant Grain and a toolbox donated by Moritz Chevrolet.

The Aledo Athletic Booster Club announced that the annual football banquet and auction will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan 29 in the new indoor multipurpose practice facility.
Tickets are $15 per person and are on sale until 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26 at the Aledo High School office.
The evening will feature music, fun, highlight videos, a silent auction and live auction honoring the two-time Class AAAA Division II State Champion Bearcats, as well as the varsity cheerleaders, filmers, trainers, Spirit of Aledo, and Banner Crew.
The 2010 Bearcats (16-0) authored the first perfect season in Aledo High School history and became the first back-to-back state champions in school history.

Aledo high school running back Johnathan Gray received yet another honor today (Jan 20) when ESPN announced he was this year's choice as "Mr. Football USA."
The designation puts Gray in the same league as famous names like Earl Campbell, Billy Sims and Eric Dickerson.

55 minutes to kick-off and Aledo has taken the field for their pre-game warm-ups. The Division II 3A State Championship just ended with Carthage beating Cold Springs 47-22. The Bearcat nation is starting to file in.
They have pushed tonight's kick-off to 8:15.
Aledo wins the toss and elects to recieve. Gray and Cunningham are deep.
A three play 73 yard drive ends in a 52 yard pitch and catch from Matthew Bishop to Michael Mann. Frantz PAT is good and Aledo leads 7-0 with 11:07 left in the first quarter.

We are almost under way. The anthem has been played and the Bearcats are set to recieve...the path to State has been paved!

The defense stops Poteet on their first possesion. Cunningham muffs the punt but he does recover. Aledo takes over at their own 22 yard line.
Poteet forces another punt as Aledo's offense has yet to get going. The Pirates take over at their own 28.
Poteet missed a 37 yard field goal to give the ball to Aledo on their own 20 yard line.
As the 1st quarter turns to the 2nd, Aledo is forced to punt again. The ball does land inside the 5, so if Aledo holds here they will have great field position.
