Parker County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating suspects in connection to the burglary of the Aledo Bearcat Valero Convenience Store.

Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said the incident was reported just before 1 a.m. Wednesday morning in the 400 block of North FM 1187.

Investigators said security footage shows a male suspect with curly hair, wearing tan shorts, a T-shirt with a hoodie and a female suspect wearing a T-shirt, black short, tennis shoes with her hair in a bun. Both suspects were shown wearing masks/head coverings and were wearing gloves.

The pair was seen on the recording forcefully breaking into the convenience store through a rear entrance, filling two large bags with merchandise, then exiting a short time later with about 30 cartons of cigarettes, retailed at about $1,500. The couple fled the premises in a small SUV.

Anyone with information on the identity and/or location of the suspects involved is urged to contact the Parker County Sheriff’s Office at (817) 594-8845, or Parker County Crime Stoppers at (817) 599-5555. You may remain anonymous when calling Crime Stoppers.

Man arrested, charged with animal cruelty

June 11, 2014 by Randy Keck

Weatherford-Parker County Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team Unit members located a man wanted in connection with a dog cruelty case.

F.A.S.T. members contacted Dallas authorities late Tuesday evening about the man, who is the suspect of a Parker County case where a puppy was killed after the suspect threw it from a car window while driving down Interstate 20, last Friday, June 6, 2014.

A Tarrant County Constable reported the incident to Sheriff’s deputies just before 7 a.m., after a female assault victim reported the incident.

Sheriff’s reports indicate the suspect, identified as Marquael Odoric Greer, 32, of Lancaster, was engaged in a verbal dispute with his girlfriend, Shaquitha Pratt, 33, of Ferris, while traveling eastbound on Interstate 20.

Pratt, a passenger in the vehicle, was holding the 6-week-old, white, male Chihuahua mix-breed puppy in her lap at the time of the argument.

Pratt reported to Tarrant County deputies that the puppy was killed by Greer while traveling in Parker County near the 423 mile marker post. Pratt said she and Greer argued while he traveled at a high rate of speed. Greer then rolled the window down, grabbed the puppy from Pratt’s lap and threw it out of the window and continued to travel eastbound on Interstate 20.

Pratt also reported to Tarrant County deputies that Greer then physically assaulted her and kicked her and another male passenger out of the vehicle.

The Bearcats won 4-0 to claim their first state title.

ROUND ROCK - Paced by Taco Anderson's sixth consecutive post-season victory, the Aledo Bearcats are the new Class 4A state baseball champions after shutting out Victoria East, 4-0, Friday night at Dell Diamond.

Anderson, who with nine other of his baseball teammates can claim state championships in football and baseball in the same school year, limited VE to just three hits with one walk with four strikeouts in a complete-game effort.

"It feels so good to win two state championships in one year," Anderson said. "We were expected to win in football, but when we finished third in district this year I don't think anyone outside of this team belived we could do what we did (Friday night). We wanted to prove to everyone that we were better than what we finished in district. This is so cool. It really hasn't sunk in yet."

Third baseman Garrett Uhl, who swatted a single and a double in the title game and played on the football team, was asked which of the two state championships he enjoyed the most.

"Both of them are pretty special," Uhl said. "But baseball is my favorite sport, so I like this one the best."

Bearcats head coach Chad Barry said the state tournament was just a continuation of how the team has played throughout the playoffs.
