Aledo 58 Trimble Tech Bulldogs 6 is the final score tonight at Bearcat Stadium

Trimble Tech won the toss and receives at the West end. They take over at the 20 yard line after the return.

2 plays for negative yards lead to a pass on third down. Tyson Mauser intercepts the pass and returns it 10 yards for the first Bearcat points.
His touchdown and Chance Nevarez PAT make it 7-0 Aledo.

Aledo Gets the ball back on a punt after a three and out by the Bulldogs.

The first play is a 54 yard touchdown by Baker Roberson. 14-0 Bearcats.

Unable to move the ball, the Bulldogs punt again.

The Bearcats drive the ball all the way down to the Tech 2 yard line, but a fumble gives the Bulldogs another offensive opportunity, when they recover the ball at their own 10 yard line.

The Bearcat defense allows 1 first down, in the entire first quarter, and they will get the ball back on a punt at the Bulldogs 33 yard line.

The first play is a Jess Anders run to the right side for 31 yards. From the 2 yard line, Jess takes it in for another Bearcat touchdown. After the PAT the score is Aledo 21 as the first quarter ends.

A nice return by the Bulldogs gets their next drive started at the Aledo 43 yard line.

Another Aledo interception, this time by Brock Parker, get The Bearcats the ball back.

A nice pass from Pate Davis to Taco Anderson for a first down. Two plays later Pate throws a 37 yard touchdown pass to Willie Gibson, who makes a beautiful catch for the score. 28-0 Aledo.

The Bearcat defense holds the Bulldogs again and Clayton Lowe returns their punt to the Aledo 48.

Organizers of the Thanksgiving Trot in Aledo have announced a special addition to this year’s 5k race to benefit Aiden Maloy, a 3-year old being treated for kidney cancer. Radio personality Randy Galloway has offered an All Access Pass with Aiden Maloy at the ESPN Studios in Las Colinas as GAC (Randy Galloway) and Company will give you a behind the scenes look at what they do best – TALK. Submit a sealed donation to help Aiden in his fight with cancer. Sealed donations will also be accepted on the day of the race. Whoever submits the highest donation will join Aiden and GAC for an upcoming Galloway and Company show – LIVE from the ESPN Studios. Make checks payable to Nora Maloy. Ladycats head to regional tournament

Updated to reflect change in Saturday game time



The Aledo Ladycats head to the regional volleyball tournament at 7 p.m. in Moody Coliseum on the campus of Abilene Christian University.

The Ladycats will face powerhouse Amarillo, who defeated Canyon Randall 25-23, 25-13, 25-23. Aledo defeated Byron Nelson 25-12, 25-19, 25-23.

The matchup between Aledo and Amarillo will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10. The winner of that match will play the winner of the Dumas/Burleson match on Saturday at 12 p.m.

Aledo Ladycats defeat Byron Nelson 3-0 in a Regional Quarterfinal tonight in Keller

A 7:00 pm start from Central High School Gym in Keller.

We are underway.

The Aledo Ladycats begin on a 9-3 run to get things started. Byron Nelson takes a timeout.

It's 14-4 Ladycats before they give up serve.

!7-7 and the Ladycats have serve back. 19-7 and Nelson again uses a timeout. Aledo still serving. 23-11 Aledo when Byron Nelson gets to serve again.

25-11 Aledo Ladycats is the Final in game 1.

Game 2 starts off with a 7-4 Ladycats lead when Nelson gets serve back.

Big plays from Mykah Wilson, Brianna Sharrat and
Sarah Smith during that run. It's 9-9 and Aledo loses the serve. Another kill from Brianna gets Aledo serve back. 11 all Aledo serving. 14-11 Aledo and another Nelson timeout. Mykah and Brianna's play at the net leads the Ladycats to a 19-12 lead. Ashley, Haylee and Raygan are going all out for every dig.

Raygan McClelland's serve gets the score all the way to 22-13 before Nelson gets another serve.

23-15 Aledo, Nelson serves. 23-17 Ladycats, they take a timeout. Nelson still has serve. 23-19 Aledo and the Nelson Bobcats serve.

Brianna Sharrat serves for the game, and Sara Smith's kill puts it away.

25-19 Aledo in Game 2. Ladycats lead 2 games to none.

The two Teams trade points and serve all the way to 8 all. Ladycats serving. 9 all Byron Nelson serving.

12-10 Byron Nelson and they are serving. They have the serve again at 15-12. They serve at 18-16. It's 21-17 Bobcats, they still have serve.

Gun incident lands man in jail

A Weatherford man is in custody following a weekend disturbance which stemmed into a person with a weapon call.

Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said deputies responded to the call in the 2100 block of Annetta Center Point Road just before 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012.

A male victim reported the suspect, later identified as Ricky Lee Newton, 53, ran his 21-year-old son off the road during a vehicle incident.

The father of the victim stated he went down the street to speak with the suspect about the incident and an argument ensued.

The father further reported Newton then pulled a handgun from his waistband and directed it toward him threatening to “kill” him, additionally pointing the weapon at his wife and son. The wife dialed 9-1-1.

The victims reported Newton additionally threatened to kill the wife and son if they did not “call off the police.”

The victims were able to flee the scene in their vehicle.

Newton was later arrested by deputies at his residence and booked into the jail at 8:35 p.m. Sunday.

Newton was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. As of Monday morning, he remained incarcerated. His bond has not been set.

Ladycats win area championship

The Aledo Ladycats defeated Denton 25-10, 25-12, 25-13 Friday to capture the area championship in volleyball. The match was played at Brewer High School. The Ladycats will play Byron Nelson for a chance to advance to the regional tournament at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6 at Keller Central High School.

Aledo defeats Granbury 63-0

Granbury won the toss and deferred.

Aledo will receive to start the game.

Jonny Carter returns the kickoff out to the Aledo 28 yard line. The drive gets off to a tough start, until a Pate Davis to Caleb Frysinger pass gets the Bearcats a first down at their 40 yard line.

A third down Davis to Taco Anderson pass gets the ball all the way down to the Pirates 5 yard line. On the next play Pate Davis carries to the left side for Aledo's first points. After the Chance Nevarez PAT, the score is Aledo 7 Granbury 0.

Granbury overcomes a penalty on their first series to make a first down. Aledo's Jonny Carter recovers a Pirate fumble and returns it to the Granbury 23, then Caleb Frysinger has a nice run up the middle. Pate Davis runs 23 yards for another Bearcat touchdown. PAT good, 14-0 Aledo.

Tyson Mauser and Zach Hyles anchor a strong defensive series and the Pirates are forced to punt the ball back to the Bearcats.

Frysinger up the middle for a couple of tough yards and a Bearcat first down. A 15 yard pass to Matthew Hawkins, then a 13 yard Frysinger touchdown run. 21-0 Bearcats after the Nevarez PAT.

The Pirates have some success on their next series, but Gunner Johnson and Jordan Mittie seem to be everywhere the ball is. A big tackle for a loss by Gunner Johnson forces another Granbury punt.

The Bearcats fumble at their 40 yard line and the Pirates get another chance.

The Pirates go for it on a 4th down, but the Bearcat defense holds. Aledo ball at their 42 yard line.

Ladycats face Denton at Brewer on Friday

Raygan McLelland served aces on the final two points of the first game in Aledo's 25-17,25-14,25-16 bi-district win over Burleson Centennial on Tuesday.

Next stop for the Ladycats is the Area Championship round against Denton, which will be played at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at Brewer High School.
