Golf, baseball and soccer will be on tap locally as several Aledo High School teams are in action on Friday.
The day begins with golf as the Aledo Bearcats golf team will host the Bearcat Brawl beginning at 9 a.m. at Split Rail Links and Golf Club. The tournament concludes Saturday.
The Bearcats baseball team is hosting a leg of the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Tournament. Play was canceled today due to wet grounds but will resume on Friday and conclude Saturday at the AHS baseball field.
The Bearcats will play at 11 a.m. Friday against Denton Guyer; at 3 p.m. against North Crowley; and at 7 p.m. against Richardson. Aledo will continue tournament play Saturday at the AHS baseball field with games at 9 a.m. (Mansfield Summit) and 3 p.m. (Richland).
Friday night at Bearcat Stadium the Ladycats and Bearcats soccer teams will host Eaton in a rare District 6-5A varsity doubleheader.
The Ladycats and Eaton will kick off at 6 p.m. followed by the Bearcats/Eagles match at 7:30 p.m. It will also be Senior Night for the Bearcats as the seniors and their parents will be honored before the boys’ match.
