Posted

Aledo swatted 10 hits, including four extra-base hits, as the Ladycats defeated Chisholm Trail, 12-2, Tuesday night in the District 6-5A softball opener at the AHS softball field in a game called on run rule in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Senior Megan Reynolds was the winning pitcher, allowing one earned run on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts in six innings. After ripping a double to score two runners for an 11-2 lead in the sixth, Reynolds took advantage of a Lady Rangers' throwing error and sprinted home on the play for the run that ended the game. At the plate, she reached four times with a pair of hits and two walks.

Aledo scored two runs in the first inning, added four in the second and three in the third to take a 9-0 lead. Chisholm Trail scored two runs on three hits in the top of the sixth before the Ladycats countered with three runs in the bottom of the frame to end the game.
