Aledo senior forward Ashley Ray scored two goals and goalkeepers Makenzie Covington and Alexa Federman combined for the shutout as the Ladycats cruised to a 4-0 victory over the Northwest Lady Texans Tuesday night in a girls' District 6-5A soccer match at Bearcat Stadium.

The win elevates the Ladycats' district record to 10-3. The Ladycats will play for second place in a showdown Friday at Boswell in the 6-5A finale.

The win was also head coach Bryan Johnson's 200th career victory, half of which he earned at Aledo. His first 100 wins came at Crowley.

Grace Ornelas began the scoring, and Ray extended the lead to 2-0 almost halfway through the first half. With 4:51 remaining in the opening half, Ray scored again, this time on an assist from Ornelas, for a 3-0 lead that stood at the half.

Aledo closed the scoring when Kristen Burns scored off a rebound with 22:18 left to play.
