Wood releases Bearcats' 2018 schedule

Aledo Bearcats head coach Steve Wood released the order of the 2018 football schedule, including the dates of the two non-district games.

The Bearcats will open the season on Friday, Aug. 31, at Denton Guyer (C.H. Collins Complex). The second and final non-district contest will be Saturday, Sept. 8, against Bentonville (Arkansas) High School at the Bayou Border Classic in Shreveport.

Aledo will compete in the nine-school District 5-4A. Dates and kickoff times of the games will be determined later.

The district opener will follow the week after the last non-district game when the Bearcats will face Burleson Centennial at Burleson ISD Stadium. Aledo will have a bye the following week, Week 4 by the UIL calendar.

Beginning with Week 5 (if the game is on a Friday that date is Sept. 28), the Bearcats will host Everman. The district schedule as follows is at Midlothian, home against Burleson, at Cleburne, home against Waco University, at Joshua and at home against Arlington Seguin.
