Ladycats pound 12 hits in 7-3 win over Mansfield Lake Ridge

Aledo swatted seven consecutive hits in a five-run third inning to break open a tie game as the Ladycats defeated Mansfield Lake Ridge, 7-3, Monday night in a rescheduled game at Lake Ridge High School.

The game, originally scheduled for Tuesday, was played Monday night to avoid thunderstorms forecast for Tuesday night.

Aledo recorded 12 hits, including three doubles in the third frame.

Bailee Whitener was the starting pitcher and was credited with the win, while Megan Reynolds earned the save in relief.

Each team scored two runs in the first inning. Aledo scored five runs on seven hits in the top of the third inning and Lake Ridge closed the scoring with a run in the bottom of the third.

Reynolds retired 15 of the final 17 Lake Ridge batters.
