There is plenty of Aledo High School sports action on tap today in boys’ basketball, softball and girls’ and boys’ soccer.
The Aledo Bearcats basketball team will play its final game of the season today at home against Saginaw. Both teams have been eliminated in the chase for a playoff spot.
It will be the final high school basketball games for Aledo seniors Cameron Yates, Noah Arrington, Ayden Smith, Leo Bell and Hunter Vela.
Tip off is at 8 p.m. today at the Aledo High School gym.

Softball opens season
The Aledo Ladycats softball team will open the 2018 season at home today against Mansfield Legacy.
The first pitch is set for 7 p.m. at the Ladycats softball field.
The Ladycats will end the week at the Mansfield tournament before returning home on Monday to host Brock.
Ladycats, Bearcats continue District 6-5A play today
Both the Aledo Ladycats and Bearcats soccer teams will face Brewer today.
The Ladcyats, 2-2 in district play, will host Brewer (3-1). Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. at Bearcat Stadium.
The Bearcats, 3-0-1 in 6-5A, will travel to Brewer (3-1), with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. at Bear Stadium.
