Crews have begun work on Vernon Road in front of Coder Elementary School as part of a joint partnership with the county to expand and improve the road to reduce school traffic pain.
"We have made them (the construction company) aware of the back-to-school situation and we are hoping to have all the work in that area done before school starts," said Parker County Public Information Officer Joel Kertok.
Kertok said the road would periodically be reduced to one lane during the work this summer.
