It’s a “two for one” this week for fans of the Aledo Ladycats softball team and the Bearcats baseball squad.
The Ladycats have advanced to the regional quarterfinal (third) round, and the Bearcats advanced to the area (second) round.
But the good news is that both teams will play every game of their respective best-of-three series’ at one location – Chisholm Trail High School.
The Ladycats will face District 6-5A champion Eaton in a best-of-3 regional quarterfinals series. Game 1 is set for 7 p.m. today, with Game 2 scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday. Eaton will be the “home” team in the opener and the Ladycats will be the designated “home” team in the second contest. Game 3, if necessary, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Ladycats the designated home team.
The two teams split a pair of games in district play.
The Bearcats will face Richland, the fourth seed from District 8-5A, in a best-of-3 area championship series.
Game 1’s first pitch will be at 7:30 p.m. today, with Game 2 scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday. Aledo will be the “home” team in the opener and the Rebels will be the designated “home” team in the second contest. Game 3, if necessary, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday. Aledo is the designated home team for game three.
