According to a report published today in the Wise County Messenger, Decatur head volleyball coach Claire Gay has told her team she has accepted the offer to become the new head volleyball coach/girls' athletic coordinator at Aledo High School.
Claire replaces Kathy Goings, who announced her retirement after 21 years as head coach of the Ladycats.
Gay compiled a 324-111 record in her 10 seasons at Decatur. Her teams won two state championships – in 2013 in Class 3A and in 2015 in Class 4A.
Gay won seven consecutive district championships from 2009-2015, and last year the Lady Eagles reached the third round of the playoffs.
Aledo ISD sources told The Community News that Gay has signed a letter of intent to become head volleyball coach/athletic coordinator at Aledo High School.
