Aledo Middle School students Madeline Huntington and Parker Stegall won first and second place, respectively, in the Weatherford chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution Essay Contest. Contestants wrote essays about National Parks in a journal-entry format, describing a particular park and explaining why parks are national treasures. Both essays will be sent to the State of Texas DAR Office for further consideration and recognition. Madeline received a $100 scholarship and Parker received $50.
